I just bought a new Fender deluxe roadhouse Stratocaster. I get almost no sound out of the neck pickup and no out of phase sound with the pickup switch at the fourth position. I have tried adjusting the height of the neck pickup with no success. What am I missing?

A "Squire" is definitely a copy, but a "Squier" can be a decent beginning or intermediate guitar. If you bought it at a guitar store, take it back to them for a proper setup that they should have done in the first place.
