Don't over think this. Mount your transducer so it will set parallel to the lake bottom when the boat is in the water. If your off by a degree or two it will not affect your sonar performance. The human eye can measure differences in angle down to about 1/10th of an inch. "Eyeball it" and you will be good to go.

SOURCE: remove pin pivot in transom mount

look for clips around the pin inside the housing perimiter. If you see rings cut in the pin that don't have clips in them, they probably fell off. If used in a marine environment, the pin probably is corroded and locked to the housing. Use usual methods, i.e. heat and lube and.....a hammer wrench.

SOURCE: I have an Eagle Fisheasy fish finder & need to replace transducer

You can find out which one is serving the device you wish to repair by waving a small spade or wide metal object about a foot from each of the existing transducers and have someone else monitoring the insruments on the concole.

SOURCE: Have just installed a Garmin 140 on a tracker

I would recommend having the back part of the transducer a little higher (toward the sky) than the nose of the transducer. When I say a little, I mean a very slightly. This way the nose of the transducer pushes the water and any bubbles away from the face.

Might help to tell us what kind of boat - deep V hull 22 ft.? bass boat with shallow V hull? Some need the transducer closer to the centerline of the vessel while others do better more outboard, Naturally they need to be flush with the hull no matter where they are located. Depending on the transducer, you could also try properly mounting it inside the vessel near the transom. Good new is you are getting good info from it. Cheers Pete

Hi I live in NZ and have a Humminbird 383c GPS Chartplottter which was purchased in the US. approx 2 years ago.It has a transom mounted transducer which I mounted in a piece of plastic pipe, epoxied in the...

Don,

We would recommend that you replace the transducer (if you want to keep the transducer inside the hull you may use the
XP 9 20 T with temperature and you can use epoxy to mount the transducer) If you want to keep in the compartment you have created you may want to just put water in the compartment with the transducer so its not shooting through the air.

If you have any other questions please email customer service at [email protected]

Thank you,

You can use a thru-hull transducer but a transom mount transducer will always interference with all of that water and alot of air bubbles moving under it at high speeds.

I was looking to see if I could find a replacement for the display and was able to confirm that the transducer is a single beam 120khz unit so I doubt that you've find a replacement for it ..as is .

The Airmar C-49 is the proper number for the connection line but like me I think your going to have to think about a whole new unit and or system . Been there already.

Best of luck.
