Hello my Grandfather Clock won't chime on the hour at all everything else works great. time, chimes on the 1/4 hour just nothing just not the big single chimes to how many hours. can you please help it has 3 weights, cable driven, tubular chime rods thank you.

Hi i owned a grand father clock and it had a reset button for the chimes BUT that was if it was an hour or two fast or slow It's only a guess because your clock is 1.15 slower than the chimes, You should be able to remove the hands off the face (note exactly where they were) and replace them 1.15 forward, NOTE you won't be able to push them 1.15 forward as the chimes will follow... I hope i haven't confused you... CHEERS..
When you are setting your clock, when you go pass the hour you have to let the clock chime completely, if you do not do this you can damage the time sequence..You have to reset the chime cable or belt...but anytime you set your clock when you get to hour let it chime completely before continuing on...Try also going around with hour hand onetime and let it chime, if it will chime at all, if not you can get a manual download online. Clocks like yours has websites and support who can help you...I think it just needs the chimes reset.
In my eyes there are two kinds, ones that are a real grandfather clock that runs on gravity using a series of weights and gears with different counterweights for chimes and running the clock itself, and there are the show pieces that look like a grandfather clock but run on newer tech and electronics. If a real one then would try first pulling the weights to the top. They are usually shaped into a pinecone or something. If weight is at bottom them have to pull corresponding chain with weight till the weight is at the top of case. As "time" goes by the weights lower. You should have different counterweights for the clock, chimes, dancing figures and whatever else it may have. All the weights move at different "speeds" so you have to keep an eye on them to make sure it keeps correct time. I would recommend consulting the manufacturer if possible. There are so many kinds out there is really hard to tell by such a short video.
