Omega tankless water heater giving error code E2 incomplete burn

My omega tankless water heater is constantly giving error code E2. This stands for incomplete burning. It will work sometimes but takes several times of turning water on and off to get it to finally work. Could this be the gas line is not large enough or is it a part that needs replaced.

E2 error is given when the ION sensor is coated with the sulphur in the NG or LPG (the agent which make the gas stink so you can detect the licks!
Need to use a 400 to 600 grit sand paper and properly clean the sensor until it shine ! It take about 15 minute and last another 2-3 years until coated again .
You have same problem in Bosh (same cod) and in Reem (different cod!) It does not have anything to do with the unit, it strictly has to do with the gas composition.
I post also a uTube video about this.

I had my 620 for 2 years then the Error E2. I took it to work, opened it up and blew out the cumbustion chamber area. The ammount of corrosion that was blocking the path was tremendious. When I re installed..... Solved. NOW another year later, e5 , over heating....while NOT running. Unplug it , plugit back in, instant E5 with or with out water running. I'll spend my money else where next time. ASSEMBLED in USA, not made.

Take the cover off and remove the two screws that attach the circuit control board and keep the unit unplugged for 15 minutes then reattach the screws and cover then back flush the unit with vinegar for 45 minutes to remove the calcium then put the unit back online and it should work.

Error code tankless gas

E2 is a cold water inlet temp sensor. Has your unit experienced any freezing conditions? If it senses below 36 degrees or above 90 degrees it will show this error.

If its normal temp, and you still get this error...check your sensor. Its an 8(kohm) sensor. Make sure its not open. If it reads ok and your temp is not an issue, then you probably have a bad control board

Error code e2 on Rheem tankless water heater

e2 is not shown among common error codes:
Error e2 might be: Brownout condition or too low of voltage to thermostat. Double check wiring and check for 24 vac between R and C. E2 will clear 15 sec after proper voltage is restored.

Before calling service technician, open following link for Rheem troubleshoot resources including Rheem chat and typical generic manuals and common error codes:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

Model number and serial number are required for Rheem contact, and then they tell you what error code means without saying how to fix it, and then tell you to call service technician.

Tankless water heater manuals each say to have qualified technician perform yearly service. Most causes for common error codes are covered by yearly service.

Yearly service is fairly standard in the HVAC and water heater industry with advancement of high-tech 'energy' saving appliances. Of course all costs are energy, and the service call probably costs more that the 'energy' saved by energy-saving appliance. But with high tech stuff like tankless, it is good to have a reliable service guy who knows your machine.

Error code e2. inlet water temp sensor. any one have to fix this?

Before calling service technician, open following link for Bosch troubleshooting resources, including error codes, manual, Bosch contact info, and service bulletins.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Bosch-Tankless-water-heater.html

Error codes are starting point for troubleshoot.
e2 is cold water temperature sensor fault.
Bosch error code says: 1) Check connector on wires coming from top of water valve for a secure connection.
2) Sensor may trip if water temperature drops below freezing to protect heater from freezing conditions Any damage due to freezing conditions is not covered under warranty.

Another contributing cause can be temperature thermostat set very high and tankless sensor is going bad, and very cold incoming water, or combination of factors above.

Also read manual for advisories and required maintenance. Some units require water filter be cleaned monthly.

I unfortunately own a Omega 2000 Group tankless

E2 is the overtemp code. Unfortunately, the Omega line does poorly with single-handle faucets. Don't bother George Sararu, he just bought a container of these water heaters and knows nothing about plumbing. There will be no repair parts you will need. Either toss it now and get a tankless from a local dealer, or wait until your Omega unit is totally useless, then go with a local guy. George conned a lot of people - including me. I own 2 side-by-side in the utility room and figure one more year until they are junk.
Since I'm on a well, they have to be seasonally adjusted to compensate for groundwater temps. Big pain, should have bought Rinnai.
