For 120 volt operation use
black for the hot, White for the natural, Green for earth ground.
For 240 volt operation use;

Black and White for the 240 volt and Green for earth ground.
Black is generally designated as the "Hot" or "positive" .
You must make sure the switch on the power supply is set for the voltage you are using. ie: 120/240

SOURCE: i am trying to hook

The green is ground. There is no "positive" and "negative" because the current in the outlet is alternating (AC). They are called "Live" and "Neutral". The Neutral i safe to touch, the Live is deadly. There is no difference how to connect them - in both ways the power supply will work.

Need wire color diagram

Black = AC hot
Red = switched AC hot
Yellow = AC hot from a another source - another control panel as an example.
White = neutral
red w/white tracer = switched neutral
Green or green w/ yellow tracer = ground/earth ground
blue = DC voltage, ie, 12vdc, 24vdc
white w/blue tracer = dc common
Brown = AC 3 pahse - phase A
Orange = AC 3 pahse - phase B
Yellow = AC 3 Phase - phase C
shileds: think of current loops
2 cond
clear or red = +
black = -(neg)
3 cond
red = power (24vdc typically for transducers)
clear = + (signal output)
black = - (signal common)
Hope this helps, oh, and any panel I have design and wired this way is easily understaood by 99% of all service and electrical people I have worked with.

There is no blue cable in a 220V, so you have only; white, black, red and ground always green colored wire.

Looking your plug frontal side.
Green Ground on top (semi-circle)
black on left
red on right
white on bottom (neutral).

Hi .. the electrical input to the dishwasher should be a 3 wire cable, black, white, green/bare. The connection is generally into a small metal box just behind the kick plate on the right side of the front of the washer. The cable gets run thru a cable connector to keep the presure off the connection. The connection is black to black, white to white, green/bare to a ground screw in the connection box.

The cutter has a white wire, a black wire, and a green one - white is the neutral line, black is the hot line, green is ground.
