No lights on joystick

Here is a parts catalog for the M41. http://www.invacare.com/doc_files/06_108.pdf

If it was working fine before you swapped the batteries then you did something to interrupt the current flow. Pages 49/50 show the location of the controller with a picture. Unplug the connections here and make sure they are clean and in good shape. Make sure all other connections are clean and tight.

If you have 24V coming off the batteries into the controller, and 24V going out to the joystick from the controller and still nothing is working, then you will probably need to get ahold of an Invacare service tech to replace the joystick. Before he does that he should swap out the old joystick with a new one to see if that is the issue. Invacare parts are pretty pricey...joystick by itself is over $500.00. If the controller is shot, then you can double that cost. Sometimes, both need to be replaced as they can kill each other.

If the chair is old or has a lot of hard hours on it, you can usually shop around on Craigs List, etc and find a good newer/near new chair for about the same price as a new joystick replacement.

I have a nikon forestry pro. Have been using it for forestry work for about 10 months. Recently it just stopped working. Have replaced battery with 3 different brands. Let it dry out any moisture...

You won't be able to diagnose that without opening it and doing a visual inspection and then maybe follow with a continuity tester. it is likely a cold solder joint (bad connection) on the circuit board... or a broken wire going to the batteries... or just oxidation on the battery connections.

Watch stopped working 11 months after purchase. New battery fitted - watch stopped couple days later. Another new battery fitted (both by jewellers). Again, the watch stopped within 2 days. Can't find a...

It is best to go to a watchmaker for this issue. If the battery was improperly installed, it can damage the movement or contacts, which will mean the movement must be replaced. We see this issue often. Another common problem is that the oils from the installer's fingers may be causing a bad connection if the battery and the contacts are not properly cleaned. We would use the Pulse test to see if the watch has current, if so, the movement is bad mechanically, it must be replaced. If it has no current, we would check and clean all connections and replace the battery. If there is still no current (using Pulse diagnostic) then the movement is bad and it must be replaced.

Car is dead...kinda

since you replaced the battery, you might want to check the positive terminal on the battery and make sure that none of the smaller wires(if any)that go to the positive terminal did not come off.make sure they are clean and making good contact and do the same with the ground wire also.the problem has to be with the battery or terminals because that is the only thing that was replaced.once you get the car running you might want to get your charging system and battery checked just to be on the safe side. hope this info helps.take care and good luck, manny

Acer 5810t laptop. screen gone black

Press and hold the Power button for 45 seconds to turn the laptop off.

Then, remove the battery from the battery compartment and clean the metal contacts.
Next, reinsert the Battery and try to turn it ON.

If the display still doesn't come then you may try connecting an external display to check if the Computer is able to produce display and the issue is with the backlight of the LCD screen.

wish u good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

You still have a poor connection between the battery and the starter. Or a defective battery. (the headlights, if turned on will nearly go out when the key is turned to start)

Fluke 8060AA digital multimeter

The fuse has nothing to do with the display.

The contacts of the LCD are probably oxidized because of its age. With the unit out of its care, carefully remove the LCD from its retaining mount. Use rubbing alcohol and a clean q-tip to clean the contacts of the LCD and the small "rubber-like" strips that contact both sides of the LCD. Also, remove the strips and clean the other side and the contact on the main circuit board. Then reassemble.

*Note, if you live in a cold climate, freezing of the LCD could also cause this problem. In that case you must purchase a replacement LCD from Fluke.
