This link gives me an unsave website and its blocked in my computer so are you realy who you say you are?

  • stephen Adams Dec 14, 2014

I got the same warning, but the website is genuine as is the advice given, there are not viruses on the page. The security certificate is out of date, which is not unknown even on Microsoft websites!

  • stephen Adams Dec 14, 2014

The website descibes the orignal operating system as supplied as Windows 7, although it could have been reverted by the user.

Reinstall micro xp on atom advent Milano n270

Avoid XP, it's been EOL since April, 2014.
you can always get a cd from someone and make an ISO image, then make a bootable USB drive and install windows off a bootable USB.

How do i reset advent milano to factory settings?

Hi there!
There are two ways to start the recovery:
Restart your computer. Then Press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting System Recovery" is displayed. Just follow the instructions on the screen to restore your computer
In Windows by clicking: Start / All Programs / System Recovery / System Recovery.
The recovery will load and display a box with one option:
Non-destructive recovery: this option will restore Windows, supplied applications, and drivers. This option will not destroy your documents or programs. These will be backed up along with the registry. These are restored at the end of the recovery process.
To access the recovery options below that erase all data from the computer, click the Advanced button.
System Recovery - No format: this will reinstall Windows, supplied applications and drivers. It will move your files to a folder called "My old disk structure". Any applications (except those supplied) will need to be reinstalled.
System Recovery - Quick format: this option will erase your hard drive including your personal files. Windows, supplied applications and drivers will be reinstalled.
Select the Non-destructive recovery option and press Next. You will be informed about System Restore in Windows, click Yes.
The recovery will begin. Once this is complete click Restart.
Hope this helps.

My netook ADVENT 4211C is saying BOOTMGR missing I do not have CD Rom in it I am trying install windows xp by usb but it is not reading the USB What should I do ....???

Hi,

You should be able to recover the operating system from the hidden partition on the hard drive.

  1. When the PC starts you will see a menu for two seconds. Press the UP or DOWN arrow and this will pause the menu and allow you to choose an option.
  2. Highlight The TechGuys Recovery and press the Enter key.
  3. This will load into the recovery program.
  4. Select Reinstall Windows by clicking on the circle to the left.
  5. Click the right arrow.
  6. Put a tick in the box next to Start Full Destructive Recovery.
  7. Click the right arrow to start Recovery.
  8. When Recovery has completed, click the right arrow to restart the system.
  9. Your computer will then return you to its initial out-of-box experience.

Note - The data on your hard drive will be permanently deleted. Please save all important files and documents to an external device before you begin. This includes your emails, Works/Office documents, internet favourites, music, photos and videos files.
Setting the boot priority
In order to boot from a USB memory stick (pen drive) or SD card, your computer must have the correct boot priority. To check this is set correctly, follow the steps below:
  1. Power down your PC for a few seconds, then power it up again and tap the DEL key several times as it loads. This will display a grey screen with blue title bar saying Aptio Setup Utility.
  2. Press the right-arrow key on the keyboard until Boot is highlighted.
  3. Highlight Boot Option #1. Press ENTER.
  4. Select USB HardDisk from the list and press ENTER.
  5. Highlight Boot Option #2. Press ENTER.
  6. Select Hard Disk from the list and press ENTER.
  7. Press the right-arrow key on the keyboard until Save & Exit is highlighted.
  8. Insert the Recovery Backup media and press ENTER.
Note: The System Recovery utility will reinstall all hardware and software supplied with your Advent Netbook. However, you will need to reinstall any additional software and hardware that you may have added. Please refer to the documentation supplied with those products for further help.
Recovering from a USB memory stick (pen drive) / SD card
  1. With your USB memory stick or SD card inserted, reboot your computer. This will load into the recovery program.
  2. Select Reinstall Windows by clicking on the circle to the left.
  3. Click the right arrow.
  4. Put a tick in the box next to Start Full Destructive Recovery.
  5. Click the right arrow to start Recovery.
  6. When Recovery has completed, remove the Recovery Backup media and click the right arrow to restart the system.
  7. Your computer will then return you to the initial Windows out-of-box experience setup screens.

Good luck.

Trying too dual boot xp pro on toshiba tecra m5. conflict image of original xp pro, in slim select bay hdd. Need help with settings so as the same op system can be used on both drives.Any help would be...

in order to dual boot something.... you need to partition the hard disk... if there's only 1... you need a program that will create another partition from drive C...
for example the size of your Hard disk(drive C) is 160gb
you need a program that will split 160gb into 2 it should come out and you will have now two drives (C & D) with a size of 80gb each...(It depends on how large you want the other drives to have)...

the program is called Partition Magic 8.0 if you want that program.. i can send it to you... just contact me in my yahoo messenger... [email protected]

now it's time to install the Windows XP in each drive then you'll have a dual boot... or you can install Windows Vista on the other drive... so therefore you'll have Windows Xp and Windows Vista in one PC...

hope it will help you... tnx

My hard disk would not open

is the hard disk detectable in the cmos setup? to know how to enter the cmos setup look for the press "DEL / F2 / F10 to enter setup when you power up the pc. check for the boot option under cmos and check the hdd if cmos can detect it. otherwise hard drive has a problem. if hard drive is detectable, try reinstalling windows xp. other means is to check boot sequence by pressing F11 during start up. this will display the option on which you would like to boot from.
