That could happen if the pans are not compatable with the unit.

Had hob for 18months no problems, now two hotplates wont work & today the child lock light is on & nothing else will work, nothing.

remove the child lock setting and the remainder will work
those hot plates that were not working may need new switches, thermostats or replacement elements
call an accredited appliance electrician to get it all working again

REPLACE SWITCH BUT DOES THE SAME THING BEFORE I REPLACE THE SWITCH POP CIRCUIT BREAKER I THINK MAYBE THE GROUND

A hotplate of that size requires a designated plug. It must be wired correctly with the right wire size to handle 15 amp. If the wiring is sloppy or is just one of 12 plugs and or lighting on that circuit it will trip the breaker if it is working flawlessly. Also never use an extension cord with it.

One of the rings comes on when the hob is even turned off any idea why this is???

This would normally mean that the hotplate controller if faulty. It is not a common occurrence but it does happen.

I have a neff T1.D20 dual circuit hotplate but although the inner lights up and gets hot the outer part doesnt. Is the outer part supposed to?

I have a T172 model which also has a dual circuit hotplate.

In the control area you should find a dual circuit control pad - this has two concentric circles on it. With the hob switched on, pressing this button will chnage the mode of the dual circuit hot plate bewteen:
1. Just the inner part
2. Both the inner and outer together.

When the hob is switched off using the Standby control pad, it remembers which mode was selected and will therefore work the same next time it is switched on. However, it is worth noteing that when the mains power to the hob is interuppted, either by an isolator switch/breaker, or a power cut, the hob defaults back to just the inner ring mode.

We have a neff induction hob which for some reason has no instructions and my little brother managed to lock it (so that a key symbol lights up above the on switch and all functions are disabled, i need to...

Try - set all hotplates to setting 2. Switch off jot plates one after another starting with front right in clockwise direction, touch main switch for at least 5 seconds & a signal will sound - this activates & de-activates the child lock - or so the instructions say...

To use the hob with the child lock on - it says to press the main switch for more than 4 seconds & that lets you use it.

Replacing faulty regulator for hotplate

Remove hotplate and oven control knobs. Under the 2nd and 5th knobs is an extra screw which holds on the front cover. Unscrew these and free the cover then access is gained to the screws (2 on each edge) which removes the plate to which the regulators are fixed.Remove the faulty regulator by unscrewing it from the plate,(2 screws) It is an easy job then to install the new part taking care to put the correct wires on the correct terminals. Reassemble, job done!

Safety lock on Neff hob

I have a Neff T4344N0/08. I cannot stop all four hobs flashing - ie: I press the 'on' button all four flash, I then choose which one I want to use plus the number but they all keep flashing instead of stopping after the usual three or four. Please help - have I pressed something I shouldn't, perhaps a child lock?

PROBLEM WITH HOTPLATES SWICTHING OFF

Sometimes this happens if the pan bottom is not completly flat or is highly polished. Darker, flat pans work best. It sounds as if the safety is cutting off the burner.
