My singer ingenuity 7436 will not sew when i press the pressure foot the motor sounds but no movement

You must have the presser foot fully down or you will get a warning beep. Raise the foot and lower it again.

the part or gear that works the reverse could be damaged,, having the machine checked would be a good idea..

my machine beeps like that when I neglect to lower the presser foot.

Look on top of the machine for a round part flush with the body of the machine with a long slot in it. use a coin and turn it to the right to increase pressure, left to loosen pressure.

Raise your button hole lever which is near the presser foot.

Check to be sure the buttonhole lever is in the up position and the presser foot is down. Check feed dogs to be sure they are in the up position.
