Maytag washer (LAT7400AAV)shuts off during rinse cycle

Maytag fills with water then shuts off during rinse cycle. I emptied water with a bucket, and it would turn back on and refill. I moved the timer to the spin cycle and emptied the water. Now, it won't turn on.

The machine control board is programmed to allow a maximum continous fill time of six minutes
or an accumulated fill time of 8 minutes for each full wash cycle.
If the required fill time exceeds the time limit, the washer will shut down.
This is to prevent flooding in the event there is a loose hose clamp or damaged air dome hose.
Check the incoming water lines for a minimum pressure of 20 psi.
If lower, the customer can use smaller clothes loads and reduce the pressure to 10 psi.
An alternative solution would be to change the plastic inlet screens to metal screened washers
and remove the nozzle extender found in the water valve inlet hose near the dispener inlet."

I have an issue that is rather strange! On the NORMAL cycle only, at the end when it should turn off, a rinse comes on and wets the clothes. The extra rinse is NOT on, the belt and motor are fine. I know...

Always supply a model number, each model has it's own foibles. It is very hard to assist without full details.
BUT, is this an "LAT" series Maytag washer??
If so, this is a normal rinse, the manufacturer calls it a "Spray Rinse" and it is quite normal.it only adds the water during the spin cycle, after the rinse water is ejected and then only for about 1 minute, the water passing through the fabric as it passes by the water inlet flume and empties during the spin.

My washer will not fill with water or do any functions when i turn the dial

My Hoover 7700l ...on "fill" cycle, the water dribbles in. Takes hours to fill so we use buckets to reach the required level.

Tried: Swapping cold and hot water inlet hoses, making sure that dial is in "hot". This solved the problem for filling, BUT when "rinse cycle appoars, it's back to the dribble again.

any ideas?

Maytag washer stopped working at the rinse cycle

do you have the machine set for cold water rinse? if so, the solenoid that allows the cold water to come into the machine may be malfunctioning. try to see if it will fill in the rinse cycle with hot water? if so, you need to change the water inlet valve.

Maytag PAV2300AWW Washer makes grinding sound when agitating

Sounds like it is the bearing on the water pump. Take off back plate and replace and remove 3 screws and two hoses (the one hose is a waste line so make sure you have a bucket to empty our waste water) after removing these remove belt on bottom of pump.

MAYTAG NEPTUNE MAH9700AWW continues to fill on rinse, code "oe",

if the water continues to fill even with power off, and you have to manually shut in off at the wall valve, the 3-way inlet valve is stuck open. you have to replace it. $90

Cold water will not stop filling during rinse

while the unit is filling in the warm cycle. reach behind and shut off the hot water tap.I bet the water flow stops filling, if so, you would need to change the inlet valve on the machine. You see, in warm, if the cold is not filling, you still hear the hot filling and the unit will advance. The rinse cycles are mostly "cold" only. if the valve is not opening it will not allow it to advance from the rinse section on the board.

Good luck!

Shutting down on rinse cycle

Hi this could means that you may need to replace the washing machine bearings. Once the bearings are bad, the motor overheats and it will automatically shut down after the first rinse.

Washer is not filling during rinse cycle.

Sounds like the water is being siphoned out by the drain hose. Check to see if the drain hose rises above the top of the tub.
