Canon toner price

Have you used any refurbished toner cartridges? The prices are attractive but I have found the quality lacking at times. I would try a new Canon cartridge. Also, open and clean any areas that refer to a sensor such as density. Give it a good cleaning according to manual. Most of the problems I have had at work are bad toner cartridges. Sometimes the bargains are not bargains if you end up spending a lot of time cleaning.

Yes...Duct tape works wonders. Most of these printer cartridge
have built in chips that match to the printers they were designed for. This is the manufactures way of saying "Hey, we practically gave away our printers, so now you have to pay outrageous prices for the ink"!!! Place the tape on the light and enjoy the savings ;-)

Please let me know the model of your machine. In general, if you are having print quality issues, such as lines dots or black patches, these are usually due to toner cartridge. Genuine Replacement of Toner cartridge is advisable.
However, you may get your toner cartridge re-filled, if its parts are working properly. Cartridge parts like OPC, PCR and magnetic roller can be replaced. Re-filling the toner is always cheaper and costs around 1/4th of the new toner price. So, check for the price of new toner and compare.

I have refilled/ refurbished toners myself and had no issues. Properly re-filled/ refurbished cartridge would NOT cause any damage to the printer. So, you may get your toner refilled by some good professional and it would work fine.

...the waste compartment is same unit in the drum unit...if you know how to take out the drum unit then you can see the waste compartment...but be carefull not to damage the drum...couse its will cost you a lot, the price of a drum is high...and if you can change the blade in the drum unit then you can emptying the waste toner...better call for the expert technician...

Well toner compositions change to work correctly with different developers. If you use the wrong toner/developer in your machine you WILL need a tech to de-contaminate your machine at a hefty price. That is why the manufacturer makes the bottles different, so the customer cannot use the wrong toner in the machine. DO WHAT YOU WILL.. But I advise Strongly against it.

Don't try and refill this on your own, you'll only have difficulty. Buy a reasonably priced compatible, that is "remanufactured" -not 'refilled'. It's not just toner that makes it work. The drum, cleaning blade, and doctor blade (at minimum) need to be replaced for proper operation, and there is also a toner waste hopper that needs emptying or it will overflow on second cycle.
