SOURCE: how to adjust day date on older rolex perpetual day date watch

There isn;t any downloadable manuals for Rolex watches, but operation of Rolex Day-Date is very simple:
1) when you unscrew the crown, it is in winding position,
2) when you pull out the crown to the first click, it is in day and date setting position (depending wich way you turn the crown).
NOTE: to adjust the day or date, previously you have to advance hands forward, passing 12 o'clock (midnight) mark and stop advancing at 4.00 a.m. using the crown in position as described in chapter 3. When done - push the crown fully in, then pull out to the first click and only then adjust the day or date.
3) when you pull the crown further out to the second click, it is in time setting position.
To find the daytime or night time on the watch: pull out crown to the second click and advance watch hands forward till you pass the 12 mark on dial. If the date changes as you pass it - it is the night time (midnight). If the date do not change as you pass it - it is the daytime (noon).
After all settings being done, allways screw the crown back down as it protects the watch from water and moisture.
Never use watch in sauna- it's not designed for that.

SOURCE: How to set an Armitron watch. Can't set the days correctly.

mcdevito75 here, The stem has 2 positions, Carefully slip a fingernail under the stem and lift, it may take a few trys to get used to it, in this first position you should be able to set the DATE very easily and Maybe the DAY of the wwek also, turn the stem 1 way to change the DATE and the other way For the DAY of the week., Let"s figure you can only set the DATE in this first position, First thig to do is set the DAY of the week, go thru the watches 24 hour cycle and set the DAY to 1 DAY before the DAY you need, now in that first position of the stem, set the DATE to 1 DATE before the DATE you need, now in the 2nd position we all know pull the stem out to set the time of day, go thru the 24 hour cycle to bring up the DAY of the week and DATE you need. Now your watch is set and will change on tome at around mid-nite.

How do you set the month and date

To set the month and date on a device, you will need to follow the specific instructions for that device. The steps may vary depending on the type of device you are using (e.g., a computer, smartphone, digital watch, etc.) and the operating system or software it is using.
Here are a few general steps you can follow to set the month and date on a device:
  1. Locate the settings menu for the device. This is usually accessed through an icon or menu option labeled "settings," "options," or something similar.
  2. In the settings menu, look for an option related to the date and time. This option may be labeled "date and time," "clock," or something similar.
  3. Select the option to set the date and time. This will usually open a window or menu where you can enter the current month, day, and year.
  4. Use the provided fields or menus to enter the current month, day, and year. You may need to use drop-down menus or arrow buttons to navigate through the options.
  5. Once you have entered the correct month, day, and year, save your changes and exit the settings menu. The device should now be set to the correct date.

How to set time day date on my timex indiglo cr2016 watch

To set the time and date on your Timex Indiglo watch with a CR2016 battery, follow these steps:
  1. Press and hold the stem (the button on the side of the watch) until the display begins to flash.
  2. Use the stem to cycle through the different settings: time, day, date, and year.
  3. When you reach the setting you want to change, use the stem to adjust the value.
  4. Once you have set the time, day, date, and year to the correct values, press the stem to exit the setting mode.
If you have trouble setting the time and date on your watch, you may want to consult the manual that came with the watch for more detailed instructions. If you do not have the manual, you may be able to find a copy online or you can try contacting Timex customer service for assistance.

How does its year calendar work?

The day at a glance calendar system used in this Orient watch, has been used in a number of watches over the past 40 years, perhaps most famously in the Wittnauer "2000" watch (which Orient actually made for Wittnauer under contract). Orient itself has used this system in a number of different styles of watches. Note that the daily date window is separate from the day of the week / month at a glance system; the date window is driven in traditional fashion by the movement.

The day/month at a glance system is based on a single disc inside the watch that is manually advanced by the user. If you look at the top of the watch, where the months are listed, you'll see little two-digit numbers. These represent different years--"04" refers to 2004, "11" to 2011, etc. To get the right days of the week at the bottom of the dial, you move the appropriate year under the current month. That will line up the days of the week--Monday, Tuesday, etc.--with their correct dates. You may see the same year repeated more than once on the upper part of the dial because the calendar has a specific pattern that can be replicated.

On older watches using this same system, the top pusher was used to adjust the date window, and a separate winding knob controlled movement of the year/monthly calendar disc. On this specific watch, which I have not handled in person, I cannot see a separate crown to adjust the date, and so I am guessing that you would pull out the set stem part-way to engage the disk setting mode. This would make sense because unlike the date window, where the date is always advanced, the year must move both backwards and forwards to align with all the months in a given year--you'll see that January and October are in the same place on the dial, for example.

If you're interested, here's an example of a vintage Orient that uses this same system for its calendar. Note how the monthly calendar and year/month alignment are flipped from the watch you asked about. Please note that I have no connection with this web site, make no endorsement as to the price being asked for this watch--but it has a nice picture of a classic Orient:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f30/$128-all-steel-orient-perpetual-calendar-xl-case-vintage-watch-526811.html

On a final note, you'll see a number of people refer to these as "perpetual calendar" watches. That's not accurate. The year / days of the week disc holds about 20 years of calendar information. After that, the disc is no longer accurate, though you can easily keep aligning the monthly calendar just be referring to a printed calendar and adjusting it that way. For a period of time (not sure if they still do it), Orient would accept older watches with this system and change out the old year/day wheel with a new one that went further into the future.

Can't set day of the week for armitron MD06117 mens watch

Purchased my Armitron men's digtal watch in 2009. Here's the twist on setting the name of the Day of the Week on my watch. When you get to the name of the Day of the Week flashing.. you don't get Su...Mo...Tu... You get 01..02..03... up through 99. (You think.. what the hell is this??) DON'T TRY TO SET Sun.. Mon.. etc here.. you won't find it. The puzzle solver..and it is.. IS TO SET THE LAST TWO DIGITS OF THE YEAR HERE.. Example... it is now 2010.. so scroll thru the numbers and set it to "10"!! Now.. when you go and set the numerical day date e.g. 3 for March, and set the numerical day - e.g. 15, the on-board computer?? in the watch will AUTOMATICALLY SET THE NAME OF THE WEEK!! It will look-up For Example.. in the year 2010.. 3-14 is SUN.. and will set it as that!! Hope this saves you some frustration. Regards... [email protected] (Mar 14, 2010)
