These phones have a limit of 600 feet for line length for the intercom to work. At 2000 feet there is no voltage left to trigger the intercom or transmit the voice. You will have to add a centralized power source between them to get the intercom working. However you may have another problem with all of that wire acting as a antenna you may hear cross talk or radio chatter.

Since this is more of a Peer to Peer system, the distance might be the problem. There is no control unit to push the signal.

Can I connect camera and monitor to existing aiphone Vc-6M intercom?

Aiphone intercom systems are very restricted in what you can and cannot connect. Also the type of functionality you require is determined by the master station that you have. With apartment system VC6M you will be able to configure very specific modules which can be viewed at this site and this is not much.

As the description suggests it is only meant to be a cost effective audio unit. (Video is available in apartment mode with the GT system)

How to use the intercom system

  • Check your telephone to see if it has an intercom feature. Many wireless phones that come with multiple units allow you to temporarily turn one unit into an intercom to contact other units attached to the same wireless phone system. Depending on the model, you can contact all the other phones at once, or a single specific phone, by pushing the intercom button and entering the other mode. To put the phone back into regular mode, all you have to do is switch off the intercom option.

  • Contact your telephone provider. Some telephone service providers allow landline phones to call themselves, which enables the phone to function as an improvised intercom. You would simply pick up the phone, dial and then close the connection. Once the phone is answered elsewhere in the house, you will have established a line to another phone and you can speak normally on it. This has largely been eliminated due to lack of need as technology advances, but it may still be an option with some providers.

  • Purchase and install an intercom system that will work through an existing phone line. Many of these products, some of which are produced by Panasonic, operate as a halfway point between a traditional intercom system and a phone line. The exterior intercom links directly to the phone line, and you can pick up the phone and talk through the intercom unit outside once the system is properly set up

We are a small company and we use the rca 4-line Intercom Speakerphones. Out of 4 phones one has the intercom button that continously flashing blue and red and the intercom does not work. The other 3...

The phone may have the same extension as another phone in the system. Unplug it from the power and take out the battery for a minute. Then plug it back in. It should take a moment to find other phones on the system and assign itself an extension number.

You may also have a line reversed on that phone. Check to see if line 1 is line 1 on all of the phones. Then line 2, 3 & 4.

Another thing to check is the DSL filter. That phone may need a filter on the line to keep your DSL from interferring. If it has one replace it.

    Hi,

Since you said line 3 was working for #2 company, i will suggest you put the line 3 back from where you removed it from. From the look of things the line might be the only line connected to be functioning. When ever you want to switch line since it is with intercom you will need to switch both side from where it is connected to where it is connected to, so that network connection can be achieved.

And on the other hand, the other line might not be working properly, that is why it was not connected or used.

    Take care.

Intercom / page problem with AT&T phones model 944 and 955

Do you have DSL on this line? Make sure you have filters on the lines going to the phones or take the line coming out of your DSL modem and split it to the phones.

Also, try unplugging your fax, computer modem or credit card machine and test the intercom. Sharing one line for several devices can make the intercom unhappy.

Just set up another line for the phone to have a 4th line

You need to programm the system for the 4th line.

Do all of your phones ring?

If so, the easiest way is to tell the system it now has 4 lines instead of 3. BUT, by doing this, you will erase the button immediately after the line 3 button. This is the easiest way, if you have some phones that are set not to ring, then do NOT follow these instructions.

    From extension 10 or 11
    Feature 00
    Left intercom
    Left intercom
    #104
    pres 04
    press feature 00

Try changing the extension numbers, separating them as much as possible - e.g. not 11, 12, 13.14 but say 12, 16, 20, 24. Not sure if this will help, but seems to have alleviated my problem - which only occurred on intercom connections. Extension differences are presumably just frequency differences, which could interfere with each other, or some other system.

    Lucent phone system:

if this is a partner acs, AND it has a backup card:

    From ext 10 or 11:
    Press feature 00
    left intercom
    left intercom
    #125
it should show a backup file. if none, the entire system will need to be completely reprogrammed

if there is a file there, you need to hit the enter button. the enter button is the 3rd button down farthest to the right.

the system will power down and come back up. time and date will need to be redone though.
