Can you give more information?

A light bulb is powered by connecting a voltage, via the right sort of base. Bulbs are rated at different voltages, some high, eg 240VAC, some low, eg 6VDC.

Is that what you meant?

I have an optima hd180 that will not power up. The projector was indicating a bad bulb, so I replaced that with a new one. Now it still will not power up and the fan does not come on either.

Problem w/ OEM bulb, it causes a lot of issues from my experience. Your ballast might have gone bad, hopefully it's just that. Check the voltage output of the ballast, make sure you're getting the proper amount.

FGMV205K cover removal

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know how to remove the cover on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV205K. There are two different covers that you are able to remove for access to two different light bulbs.

If you are trying to change the Microwave Oven Light for inside your microwave:

1)To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)Remove the louver by removing the three Hood Louver Screws.

3)Push in the upper tabs and pull the louver away from your appliance.

4)Remove the light bulb and replace with a new 20 watt light bulb. DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

5)Close the Oven Light Cover by carefully pushing into place. Push the louver back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and change to hood Louver Screws.

If you are trying to change the light bulbs underneath your Microwave:

1)To replace light bulbs, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)To open Light Cover, remove the screw on the light cover.

3)Replace the light bulbs with new 20 watt light bulbs. DO NOT USE BULBS LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

4)Close the Light Cover and secure with screw removed at step 2.

If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please let me know the error codes displayed on your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-

I can't power a light bulb witha potato

How big a light bulb are you trying to light? You're not going to get much current out of a couple of potatoes. You might be able to get a flashlight bulb to glow, but you're not going to get a 100-watt light bulb to light up. You might want to try an LED (light-emitting diode), as they require much less current.

Tail light out

If your socket is getting power then the bulb should light. Are you checking for power with a test light or meter? Is it getting a full 12 volts or more? If you are is the bulb getting a good ground? If all this is good maybe the bulb you are trying is no good. Even new bulbs can get the filaments broken during shipping. Please rate my answer so I am awarded points for it.

2003 passat 1.8t, GL My left brake light wasn't getting brighter when I braked for a while, replaced the bulb and no luck. I replaced the bulb housing and it still wasnt working properly until I took...

check to make sure that you have the correct bulb in the correct socket in both left and right tail lights. dual filament bulbs have to contacts on the base of the bottom of the bulb. make sure the socket that you are inserting them into also has two contacts. if that doesn't work then you need to get a test light so you can find out if power is going to the bulb housing and all ground. check all fuses also with amp meter

The right tail light dusnt work i replaced the bulb but still no light

get a test light, remove the bulb, get a friend to push on the brake pedal while you check for power from the centre wire at the bottom of the bulb socket.
If there is power there you will have a bad earth, clean around the area where the bulb sits in the hole and try it again.
If it is a parking light, turn the switch on and check the wire for power, if no power at that point you have to move to the next switch point and check there for power
hope this helps

99 mercury mystide had rear running light broken

If the driver's side tail light is working, it's not a fuse. Use a test light to check for power at the bulb holder. One terminal will be for tail light, the other for brake/turn light. If the is constant power for tail light, replace bulb. If no power, trace wiring from bulb holder to driver's side junction. Probable broken wire between the two tail lights.

Interior light switch not working

check for power at the bulb socket with a test light, making sure your test light has a good ground, then touching the probe to the power terminal of the bulb socket, having the door open or the switch on. if power is there then check to make sure you have a ground at the socket by hooking the test lite to power then touching to the ground terminal of the bulb socket. you must have both ground and power to make a bulb light.
