It really depends on how your connecting signal. I am not sure about where you are but virtually all cable companies in Canada require the use of the cable box. Searching channels will only check either the analog cable input or rabbit ears. Typically you hook up the cable box via HDMI and set the televsion to that HDMI input and channels are changed on the cable box.

Watching tv and all of a sudden it starts flipping through the channels and won't stop

If you have _no antenna_, make sure the menu (for channels) is set to either ''cable'' or ''satellite''. The TV needs to _know_ there are no ''antenna'' channels to scan for.

If the above doesn't work, try unplugging for a _full_ 24 hours. Then plug in, turn it on, go directly into ''menu'' and do like I stated above.

Note: ''Capacitors'' can ''hold memory'' for a long time. That is why ''unplug for full 24 hrs.''

New LED tv will not pick up digital channels

Refer its user manual, and make sure that the TV can receive digital transmissions. Refer its specification page. If it says, yes, and the TV doesn't receive any digital channels, contact the authorized service center. Its digital tuner is likely to be faulty. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

Tv setup - cannot get past auto channel

Connect the TV to the Comcast box using an HDMI cable, then set input on the TV to HDMI - that's all. You then select channels on the Comcast box , not the TV (although the TV remote can be programmed to change channels on the cable box)>

I have a RCA LCD TV model no. RLC3708A and when hooking it up when I took it out of box, I got to

I think you are confusing the channel on the tv and the channel of the cable company that is not something that you can pick up with the scan tv, scan tv is good for picking up local channel meaning air channel that we get with a antenna only not the cable chanel

Trying to hook up to digital converter box and cannot get the tv to see it? It won't let me in to set channels.

Check ur tv converter box a small button on the back of the converter box make sure it is not set to channel 4,make sure it set it to channel 3.Put ur tv on channel 3.Take the antena signal input put it in the converter box hole that call ANT.Take the wire that came with the converter box put the wire one side of it connected to the other hole into the converter that said OutPut.The other side of the wire should be connected to the hole in the tv said ANT hole. Now make sure ur tv converter box power a/c cord plug into the a/c power outlet and the power button is press on and have power to the converter box.The converter box now power LED light on indication should be on and it is green. Now the tv CRT screen picture should have a menu of the converter box funsctions.Just follow the on screen instructions and press the enter button on the remote and it will now auto scan for those free air Digital DTV channels. When the auto scan it reaches 100% is it done. Now u have done it.
