Try holding both the buttons down and then turning the machine on while still holding the buttons till they stop flashing - usually about 2 - 5 seconds. This will reset to factory settings. Then you can reprogramme the Lungo button if necessary, by holding it down white the coffee is being extracted, till the amount you want is processed. The machine will remember this till you reset to factory settings.

SOURCE: coffee tastes very acidic
Hi kdimof,
I realize you posted this problem over a year ago, but I was curious to see if you were ever able to resolve this problem, or find the exact cause.
I have the same issue you describe. I descaled my Lattissima for the first time using the Nespresso descaling solution. And now, two months later, I cannot remove the chemical smell/taste of the descaling solution. I've run numerous descaling cycles with just water (as per Nespresso's customer service advice), with no success. I was forced to accept a refurbished machine (even though my Lattissima was only 3 months old). The refurbished machine is currently on the way. We'll see if I have the same issue when I descale this one.
Thanks,
Redfran

It is fairly complicated, but luckily I found the manual for the device that goes into detail on exactly how to descale it. You want to go to page 8 of the manual. I will provide the manual at the end of my answer here...
Please make sure you rate my answer 4 thumbs up, it is extremely important to me. I would be forever grateful if you could do so. If you need more help on this question please just respond to my answer here and I will get right back to you.

SOURCE: After descaling le Cube two flashing buttons won't stop so can't
I had the same issue. This is what a did:
Turn off the machine
Remove the tray/container and leave it outside
Turn on the machine and this time the power button should be flashing (preheating) then hold both cup buttons for 3 sec and it will be back to normal opertion....
For some reason the sensor needs to read that the tray/container is out of the machine...

Not a fan of nespresso, we have their units and the company does not make parts or service info available. Plus accessing the internal parts requires a special tool. If you haven't had the unit very long they will most likely warranty it, and if your nice enough they may just replace it, was only able to get them to do that one time though.
