Camera won't take picture

The camera will power on, can view pictures already taken. It will focus. When I go to take a picture and press the button completely it doesn't take a picture. The orange light will stay while the green light flashes. This just happened suddenly. Thanks for any help. I would hate to go purchase another camera when this is just a cheap fix. Olympus said that they could fix it for 150.00 when I explained the problem they said that they would need to see it. Canon a70; just quit taking pictures, flash works in low light; can review prior pictures on screen; sometimes there are flashing lines, purple & white, when in picture taking mode. Changed batteries.Any ideas

When I press the shutter button, it makes a sound like it has taken a picture , no picture shows up on view finder or on the camera

You might be just pressing the shutter button half-way, and that only lets your camera focus on an object. Try pressing it again just a little bit harder. You can also set the sounds differently for the shot mode as opposed to focusing or using other features, and that will help you determine if you are actually pressing the button all the way.

I have an Olympus FE-330 The problem I am having is when I take pictures at night, focusing on anything is impossible. The view shows black, until the picture is taken. After the picture has been taken it...

Take a flashlight with you and shine it on what you want to focus. Press the shutter half-way, shut off the flashlight and press the rest of the way.

Is the lcd screen only used to view pictures that have already been taken?

Yes. If you want to see what you're going to shoot on the screen, you need to get a camera with "live view".

Trying to view pictures

If you mean trying to view pictures already taken, then consider this:

there are 4 small buttons, one on each corner, and one large one in the middle, on the back of the camera. Press the top-left one to toggle between viewing and taking-picture modes. Then you can use the larger one to move from one picture to the next by pressing the left or right side of it.

Pictures are out of focus on screen and when taken i cant seem to reajust the focus camera has been working fine untill i went to take a close up shot and now completely blurry .

If you are focusing On a subject make sure first that you are two feet away,

You can also try to turn On the blur reduction under setup menu. make sure also that your on auto mode or smart scene.

when taking picture indoor turn of the flash, you can do this by pressing the flash button On the camera

here are some basic troubleshooting

try to put your camera On a tripod or on the table to stabilize the camera then try to take a picture.

the technique of taking a picture Is first you need to half press first on the shutter button and you will noticed camera will adjust Now if the camera already adjusted pull press on the shutter button.

Blurry picture may caused if camera is not stabilized and may cause also if the flash will not fire correctly.

Pictures are blur

Hi,

Your pictures are blurry because the camera did not focus properly on the subject.

First, turn on the camera in any picture taking mode (or video mode), then look at the screen or viewfinder. There should be four white corners in the center of the camera display. This is your targeting area.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Aim the camera at your subject so this center area is directly on it.

2. Press the shutter button lightly, not all the way down. Wait for a second or two WITHOUT RELEASING YOUR FINGER. If the white corners turn green, keep the finger on the button and press it all the way.

(Once the screen flashes black, a picture is taken and you can release the finger).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the targeting area turns red and blinks, then the camera has not focused. You can to try to focus again by following step 1 and 2. If a picture is taken when the targeting area is red, then the picture will be blurry.

If there is no targeting area, then you can still focus by aiming the camera at your subject. Now follow step 2. A green box will appear on the subject, then a sharp picture can be taken.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The red arrow that flashes means that the pictures or videos are being written onto the memory card.

Also, try to be steady when taking pictures, because slight hand movement can cause blurry images too.

Page 25 in the DMC-FZ7's english manual will also explain how to focus.

Power key doesn´t work

There must be a problem with your batteries. If you have recently charged your batteries and it happens again, you should try a new set of rechargeable batteries.

You can try conserving charging power usage on camera by turning the flash off so that it doesn't precharge for the next shot.

Cannot access pics

Once you took pictures without a memory card, all pictures taken will automatically be saved on the INTERNAL MEMORY of the camera.
When taking pictures with a memory card, all pictures are just saved on the memory card itself.
If you are seeing 100-757 on the LCD screen. It means that there are already 757 pictures taken from the first time you've used the camera.
It is possible that some of the pictures are in the internal memory and some are in the memory card.

STEPS to DOUBLE CHECK:
1) Remove memory card out of the camera
- Turn on camera
- View pictures on the internal memory
by just pressing on the PLAY mode button
(lowest of the 3 little buttons)
- Pictures seen are just the ones saved on the internal memory

2) Return memory card back in the camera
- Turn on camera
- View pictures on the internal memory
by just pressing on the PLAY mode button (
lowest of the 3 little buttons)
- Pictures seen are just the ones saved on the memory card itself

*** If you want to transfer pictures on the internal memory of the camera to your MEMORY CARD, you just have to follow the steps below:
- Make sure there is a memory card inside the camera
- Turn on camera
- Press on PLAY mode button to view pictures
- Press MENU/OK button
- Keep scrolling to the right until you see COPY TO CARD
- Select YES using the arrow keys
- Press MENU/OK to confirm
* When you've done these steps, all pictures from the INTERNAL MEMORY of the camera will be copied to your MEMORY CARD but it depends on the space left on your memory card

** If still, you could not view the pictures, it's possible that the pictures are really gone when you have transferred the previous pictures to your computer.

** Once you have transferred pictures to your PC, and you have deleted those on your camera, the FILE NAME of the pictures will not start from 100-001 again unless you have reset the file name on the settings of your camera.

In example, i already have 256 pictures on my camera so the filename reads 100-256 for the last picture taken. And then i decided to transfer those 256 pictures to my PC and i deleted those immediately after being transferred. So, as i took another picture, FILENAME will start with 100-257 if i have not reset
the FILE NAME settings to 100-001.

Hope i've helped you enough.

Camera won't take picture

A quick question. Are you using an xD card that is larger than 256 MB? If so, I contacted Olympus about this very issue. The maximum capacity of xD cards my camera would recognize was 256 MB. According to the Olympus rep. the camera does support up to 512 MB, but required a firmware upgrade and needed to be sent in for this. My wife's Canon camera had no such limitations and even has better quality.

Very long shutter release delay

This is weird, usually shutter delays are caused because camera is trying to focus first, it really shouldn't happen after pre-focus. do you have a manual focus mode? if you do, try it and see if it works. if you dont, I would still suspect it some kind of focusing problem, but unfortunalty i have no idea how you can fix it yourself.
