My Intel RST is NOT running every time I boot up each day. Your answer didn't solve the problem. It shows in Services, it is running and on Automatic??? This just happened recently...

I have researched this and am not finding any way to get it running, but in my task bar, the little icon says "Intel Service is not running." Why would it just stop? Thanks!

Hi ,
Maybe this will work :
Right clic on My computer
Clic on device manager
double click IDE ATA/ATAPS Controllers
double click Intel(R)ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller
open driver tab
update driver
search for driver on-line and wait for Windows to install new driver .
Regards .

Testimonial: "This did not work...already have the most updated driver, it says. Also, in task manager, it shows "stopped." Do I need this?"

If I uninstall the program, where do I get it to "reinstall", is it on my Windows disks somewhere?

  • fanaudi
    fanaudi Dec 07, 2014

It should come back automatically . Have you actually restored Windows to an earlier date ?

  • Dorothy F Stevens

No...hate to do that if I don't have to. Is that best?

  • fanaudi

There is no absolute guarantee this will solve your issue but it's worth a try since you can't remember what happened to your pc to provoke it . The only risk would be loosing some download or program you have installed after the restore point .

Ok, thanks much. I checked out the "affect" on programs...only one which I removed, so will try this.

Detecting Array ... after updating drivers manually on Win 10

not told at all what you have.
a PC of some kind running some kind of windows PC OS or windows server not told. what.
no RAID card told.
or what RAID chip is there or MOBO used,
I this hardware RAID or software RAID
RAID mode not told, RAID 0,1,...5, 6, 10 ?? what
how may SATa drives in the ARRAY set?
what size HDD in the set (over 2TB?) each.

install w10 was told but most old PC DO NOT SUPPORT W10 at all. No PC told yet not one clue.

"nvlddmkm.sys"
this is a failing windows NVIDIA VIDEO CARD DRIVER. no video chip told or video card told.

was this PC window 7 before and are attempting w10 install.
did you buy this secret PC form others and now it fails trying to put on w10>>

best it put a SSD in this PC,if PC secret is not too old
and install w10 to the SSD and not the RAID
then when W10 is running good rebuild the RAID, last.
then if RAID fails the SSD keeps booting and RAID is vastly more easy to maintain.

NO PC told and help beyond this point is going to be weak.
need to know all hardware there. PC and all cards inside, or help will be weak or generic. ,like mine

Intel rst service is not running

eMachines eME528-2325 Specifications
you left off 1/2 the real model #
Mobile Intel® GL40 Express Chipset , A LAPTOP PC

NO OS told, w7 new it had (still)?,

well that needs a driver to work AND DOES NOT WORK ON NEWER OS NOT TOLD..
THE MAKER OF THIS LAPTOP HAS GL40 DRIVER THAT USES NONE RAID MODE, (laptops can not use raid, no space for 2+ hdd) that means only gl40 drivers work;.

here they all are

https://www.emachines.com/ec/en/US/content/drivers.html
11 drivers there for one PC (this one) per OS.
w7
the 2 marked Intel must be loaded
best is first turn off RST mode in BIOS (no raid)
and set ACHI only . there.
RST is RAID and not used.

pitfalls (no OS told at all guess nasty XP/VISTA.)
the coin cell is dead, and if is, cannot be ignored
the bios reset on bios page 1.
RTS (intel raid chip) disabled in Bios
all sata ports turned on.in bios.
set SATA to ACHI mode, for modern windows. in bios.
a good HDD that passes smart tests.
boot order set to hdd0- first. in bios.
keyfacts, Intel ended all support for the old RST chip and must be disabled now for all newer OS.
some RST drivers see bios RAID off and load in ACHI mode automatically or not.

save
exit bios, cold boot it to USB windows install media
and load the secret OS now.
fresh, (I erase all HDD that had virus first )_

My Gigabyte Mother Board shows some time Load Optimized Defaults ten boot or Load Optimized Defaults then reboot . How to fix it?

Hello

Its very simple just follow these steps:-
you can enter the BIOS by hitting the DEL or F2 key when the computer first starts up and then selecting Load optimized defaults.
The reason why it shows is that any changes you have made to your BIOS may not be saved or probably the CMOS is not firmly fixed.Hope this solves your problem. Please rate me if my solution helped you.Have a good day.

My intel @ rst is not running im using window 7 and my laptop is Sony vaio E series VPCEA36FA..how to fix it? And how to know where is the problem?

Did you install your chip-set drivers? Check that you have done so, that should be the problem. If you run RST without the chipset driver installed, it will say it's not running.

The Intel RST service is not running

This is not something that is essential but if you want to start it go to your Administrative Tools in the control panel and start it. You can set it to start automatically. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Administrative Tools, it might be under System or System and Performance depending on your operating system. Once you have the Administrative Tools open select Services. Under Services look for Intel RST and start it and you can set it to start automatically.

Smart response technology

Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) is used for SSD caching to improve system performance. To use it successfully, here are some steps to consider:
1. SSD Compatibility: Ensure that your SSD is compatible with SRT. It should be a SATA SSD.
2. BIOS Settings: In the BIOS, set the SATA mode to RAID (not AHCI or IDE) before configuring SRT. Make sure your motherboard supports SRT as well.
3. Driver Installation: Before enabling SRT, install the latest RAID drivers provided by your motherboard manufacturer.
4. Backup: Backup your important data because enabling SRT involves data migration.
5. Enable SRT: In the BIOS, set the SRT mode to "Enhanced" or "Maximum" depending on your preference.
6. Initialize SSD: Initialize and format the SSD through Windows Disk Management.
7. Install Intel RST: Download and install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) driver and software for your chipset.
8. Enable SRT in RST: Open the Intel RST software and enable SRT. You should see an option to accelerate your HDD with your SSD.
9. Reboot: After configuring SRT, reboot your system.
10. Verify: Check if SRT is working by opening the Intel RST software. It should show your SSD as a cache for your HDD.
If you're encountering crashes or issues, it's essential to ensure compatibility and follow these steps carefully. If the problem persists, consider seeking assistance from your motherboard manufacturer's support or Intel's support, as it could be related to specific hardware or software conflicts.
