Hi Daniel,
Let me say, up front, that I am not a printer guru. My background is in biomedical electronics, but this procedure works in most applications. Take distilled water and pour a small amount into the area where the soda was spilled. Wait a few minutes to allow the water to dissolve the dried soda. Then pour in more distilled water to flush out the residual soda. Allow to dry. The water should rinse out the soda, and when it dries it will leave no contaminates of its own. This procedure works well on medical devices such as telemetry transmitters and cell phones that have been spilled on. I hope this helps. Thanks for asking Fixya. Dan

Spilled soda inside xbox360

If it's under warranty, send it back. If not, do the rice thing, but take it apart first. Make sure no power goes through it until you clean it. Take it apart and find a bowel big enough to put the insides into. Grab a bag of long grain, bleached white rice from your local grocery store, and make sure to cover all the components with the rice.Let it sit in the rice over night, about 8 hours. This technique also works with cell phones, and pda's if dropped in water. Good luck.

I spilled soda in my car amp - can it be fixed?

Hello gene_lamando,

While it can probably be fixed, the cost may be more than it's worth. Liquid of any sort inside electronics will short out various components and cause extensive damage.

I'd recommend that you take the amp to a reputable car audio shop and have them check the extent of damage. If it is damaged beyond economical repair, just replace it.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I accidently spilled a mixed alcoholic drink inside my freezer and it drained somewhere down the inside, back of the refrigerator. Now it smells terrible! What is the best way to take it apart and...

Darn.........i hate when that happens. lol....not to worry...........the liquid makes its way to the evaporation pan just above the floor. Remove the grill below the door and get down with a flashlight. you will see the pan and it will either have some liquid on it or some dryed residue.........clean it with a solution of baking soda and water [two tablespoons in two quarts]. Also wipe out the inside of the fridge, the floor, the walls etc. finally put a bowl in the fridge with a half cup of baking soda in it, uncovered, and just leave it there.

Sharp calculator

I had the same problem happen to me. What I did was carefully take the calculator apart using a T-10 Torx screwdriver to remove the back cover. I then used a compressed air can and blew air into all the crevices and holes in the calculator. I was able to dry almost all of the soda the spilled, however some of the soda dried and turned into somewhat of a sticky mess. I was able to carefully wipe the sticky parts clean with a tissue. After doing all of that my calculator worked perfect.

Nothing happens when I press the power button except the light

Regardless if you don'r feel comfortable taking the comouter apart it needs to be taken apart and looked at. Depending on what got spilled inside the sooner the better. If it was a soda of some kind it could be bad.I would take out the battery and not try it again.
