I recently replaced the lamp on my TV and it seemed to have great picture, for an hour or so. The screen began to flicker from light to dark and adjusting the lamp brightness help for a day or so and also the color is green and purple. I have managed to get to the color wheel and besides being dusty, it doesn't spin for long without stopping. Is this shot bearings and if so, how do I pull that little wheel out? Is it just the 2 screws holding down the assembly its attached too that holds it in?
The bearings of the color wheel could be worn. the screws hold it in place, & there is a plug-in wire connected to it.

I hope this helps you but you might wanna look into some other posts too cause it goes farther then the lamps and color wheels. Basically it's a bad product and the consumer should be fixing it. But your problem seems to be the color wheel. Or just a good cleaning. We replaced the lamb in ours and still had a color problem. We're gonna do an exstensive cleaning and dusting of our unit and if it don't work. We're going straight to the manufactor. This is enough with this product! It's costly to repair and still don't have the quality picture it should. It's more then a simple fix and too costly for ppl to just fix and move on. For how old these products are this all should not be happening.
