Raise the front of your car off the ground with rear wheels blocked car in neutral spin front tires one side will have a rough grind or you will hear a deep tone that is the bearing that is bad.
Roaring sounds that get louder with speed is usually the bearings. A mechanic can check this on a lift. Some vehicles need them to be pressed in, others come as one unit with the hub assembly. Good luck!
Most times than not it is a tire problem. Thats a common problem at the rental car agency i work for. The tires could be low on air resulting in more of the tire to "touch" the pavement making it sound louder. It also may be separating which would make it good idea to have a professional to give them a through inspection. Hope this helps! (please rate good if useful, thank you)
The roaring noise is from the drum bearing and it will only get worse with time until it fails completely. You will need to replace the rear tub assembly which is about $300 for the part. The rear tub assembly part number is 285984. It will take about 2 hours in labor. Make sure you are using HE (high efficiency) detergent and only about 2 tablespoons per load.
This model explorer is equipped with a mechanical clutch fan. When starting the engine and when accelerating from a stop, it can tend to roar as the engine reeves up. If that is what you are hearing then yes, it is normal.
Does the roaring sound occur after the machine warms up? If so, it could be a bad drum bearing. the heat from the dryer causes it to expand in its housing and, since it may been defective, could start "roaring". If so, The dryer drum shaft/bearing assembly will need to be replaced
If however, the roaring is immediate upon start up then u may have a bearing in your dryer motor. The entire motor may have to be replaced.
Sounds like an output shaft bearing. In the trans. If it is you should hear it mostly in 3rd and 4th gear. Not a cheap repair, but really needs to be fixed.
Don't delay on this. Take the vehicle in and have the oil pressure sensor checked. It could be just the sensor or it could be something more serious. A drop in oil pressure could lead to catastrophic engine failure.
