Turned off power at panel box for a few hours, tried to reset, all lights are not coming on when selected, will not start.
Sylvia.....is the clean light flashing or any other for that matter? Either way it sounds like the control board is locked up. There are many posts on here about how to reset it. Try the following: With the door open:
Push Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry (all the lights should light up) then close the door and hit cancel. Push the buttons as fast as you can - within 4 seconds. This will unlock the control board and you should be able to restart the dishwasher. There are many issues with this Kitchenaid including the door popping open during cycle issue. I have dealt with all of them over the past 8 years of ownership. Finally replaced it with a used Miele and sold the KA on craigslist with full disclosure of all the issues and it's history. I even threw in the rubber door stopper that we resorted to using to keep the door closed. Let us know if the above procedure works for you. Good Luck.
Testimonial: "Tried the reset procedure, did not work, no lights. Only lights on with my selecting is normal and sani rinse."
Sylvia, you can try this as well. first turn off the Breaker to cut power then wait a few minutes then turn back on, then within 6 seconds try (Heated dry)(normal)(heated dry)(normal).. all lights should light up then you know that you are in the service cycle, and the unit should go into a self test and clear the fault. The test take about 30 minutes.

Check the float. (dome shaped thing inside the washer) Mine was stuck but as soon as I lifted up on it and then reseated it I was able to return to normal. Almost too easy. Saved $!
SOURCE: kitchenaid dishwasher, control panel is not
I don't know your technical ability, but there is a fuse located next to the control board inside the console, this is a good place to start. Kitchen Aid is good about putting tech sheets on the back of the kickplate and it should have wiring and diagnostic info there. Just be sure to put the sheets back so the next service tech to work on it will have them :)
