SOURCE: Please, somebody help me!! My Samsung SPH-M840 had decided, out of the blue, and from the sleep/stand by mode, to give its self the "Screen Of Death." I have tried everything from a soft couple of tap

you need to force it into master resetwith the device off hold volume up and power until you see the samsung logo then let go of power and continue holding the volume up until you see the admin user menu select master reset with the volume control and press the power button to choose it this should help you

Testimonial: "Well hi there Porfitio. Thank you very much for your input regarding my phone. I did exactly what you said and what appeared on my screen was my little android fellow, on his back with a yellow triangle displaying an exclamation mark floating above an open compartment on the androids stomach revealing the insides,so I guess I've got a serious problem with the guts of my phone. Thanks again for your time and trouble to try and help me solve this issue on my cell."

Backup all your files then do a factory reset by turning it off then turn it on holding the volume button's till you see the android on screen the tap factory reset make sure that it's on charge. If you need more information go to your tube and search factory reset samsung s3 mini. That's how I fixed mine but check on you tube as it might be different for your model.

What is an Android Custom Recovery, and Why Would I Want One?

A custom recovery is a third-party recovery environment. Flashing this recovery environment onto your device replaces the default, stock recovery environment with a third-party, customized recovery environment. This is a bit like flashing a custom ROM like CyanogenMod - but, instead of replacing your device's Android operating system, it replaces the recovery environment.

A custom recovery environment will do the same things as the stock Android recovery. However, it will also have additional features. Custom recoveries often have the ability to create and restore device backups. Custom recoveries allow you to install custom ROMs. ClockworkMod even offers a "ROM Manager" app that allows you to access many of these features from a running Android system - this app requires a custom recovery installed to function.

*Popular Custom Recoveries*
ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) can create and restore NANDroid backups - backups of an Android device's entire file system. ClockworkMod offers a ROM manager with a file browser that allows you to easily browse for and install custom ROMs via ClockworkMod Recovery and manage and restore backups. It also has other advanced features that will be useful if you're installing and dealing with custom ROMs.

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is a touch-based recovery environment. Unlike other recovery environments - including Android's default stock recovery, which needs to be controlled with the device's volume and power buttons - this recovery environment has a touch-based interface you can use by tapping your fingers on on-screen buttons. TWRP even supports themes. Like CWM, TWRP offers ROM installation and backup features the stock recovery environment doesn't.

CWM and TWRP are the two most popular custom recoveries, but other custom recoveries may be available for some devices.

I have rooted my phone all was going great went to download muiu rom and phone went to samsung screen then to black screen then samsung then black repeatedly. No programs will recognize my phone on...

Hi Michele. Thank you for choosing my Android service on Fixya. Im sorry for the late response.
If you're stuck when flashing then do the following:
1) Power down/turn off the phone.
2) Unplug it from the computer
3) take out the battery.
4)Put the battery back in, but dont power on yet.
5)Put your fingers firmly on both VOLUME buttons and the POWER button and let the screen flash the SAMSUNG logo once, keep holding and when it shows the samsung logo the second time let go of all the buttons and leave the phone alone.
6) You should be in Red CWM Recovery and.............you've done it.

You can now restore or fix your phone.
If it didnt work then your timing is off. You can try again
I hope that this works for you. It should.

Thanks.
