Where the isolants washer goes?

The isolating washers typically go between the hex standoffs and the bottom of the motherboard. Often the motherboard manufacturer will want the board to be grounded to the chassis at a single point. If this is the case, the washer would not be included at this point. Typically, if this is the case, a different pattern is silk screened on the top of the board indicating that this is the non-isolated mounting point.

How to replace the motherboard in a Compaq D510 computer

The Compaq D510 desktop computer uses a U-ATX size motherboard that is smaller than the standard ATX size. If the motherboard on your Compaq computer has stopped working or you want to upgrade to a different motherboard with different expansion slots you can open the case and replace the motherboard.

to replace the motherboard, just follow these steps:

1
  • Double click on the "Smart Cover" icon on the desktop. Enter in the Smart Cover lock code if you have set one up and click on "Unlock" to disengage the hardware lock that prevents the case panel from being opened.

  • 2

Click on the "Start" button at the bottom toolbar of the desktop and choose "Shut Down." Unplug all of the cables from the back of the computer once it has finished powering down.

  • 3

Set the Compaq computer case on its side and remove the two screws connected to the top and bottom ends of the case panel. Slide the panel to the left and pull it directly off the case.

  • 4

Disconnect the SATA cables running from the power supply, drive bays and processor fan to the motherboard. Remove the screws holding any expansion cards you may have previously installed into the AGP ports on the lower right side of the motherboard and then pull the cards out.

  • 5

Pull back the clamp holding the processor fan on. Pull the fan and then the processor off of the motherboard. Pull off the RAM modules from the motherboard.

  • 6

Remove the screws holding the motherboard into place and pull the entire motherboard directly out of the case. Check the orientation of the replacement motherboard and make sure the USB ports and AGP expansion card slots are facing towards the back of the case. Lay the new motherboard down into the case onto the mounting screws sticking out of the bottom panel.

  • 7

Place the processor back into its socket on the motherboard and connect the fan on top. Snap back on the fan clamp. Place the RAM modules back into their slots. Re-connect all of the SATA cables to the drive bays and power supply.

  • 8

Set the side panel back onto the case and re-connect the case screws. Connect all of the cables into the back of the case and power the computer back on. Wait for the operating system to load to make sure the motherboard is working properly.

  • 9

Navigate back to the Smart Cover program, enter in the password, and press the "Lock" button.

Im trying to install dell i530 into Xion II case but cant figure out how the power switch led hooks up?

All of the pins locations and settings should be available on the motherboard manual. The pins should usually be located at the very bottom. ALL of the pin's settings will be labeled underneath the pins, but often hard to see, that's why I recommend reading the manual. All of the switches and LED pins will be different on different motherboards. The USB, if you have ones that are all separate connectors, goes like this: [+5V/VCC/Power] [D+] [D-] [GND]. USB and audio will always be the same.

Replace DC power plug on Gateway CX210X laptop

Ok I just did this on my Gateway it is a different model though. I am not sure where you are stuck so I will start from the beginning. Remove all the screws from the back, then remove all the components (hard drive, cd rom, network card, battery etc.) beneath these components are more screws remove them. I do not know if you have removed your keyboard if not there are screws attatching it to the motherboard on the bottom remove those mine had three in various places like by the network card and dvd rom. If you are unsure consuly gateways website there are instructions for removing your keyboard. Beneath the keyboard there are more screws you will need to remove the monitor adapter in the rear unplug it from the motherboard and beneath it there are more screws. When you think you have removed them all gently pull on the motherboard from every side if it moves freely on eachside you are ready to dislodge it from the casing. If there is a location that is still firmly in place inspect that area from the top and bottom you should be able to locate the remaining screw.
The mother board does not slip out once all screw are removed it is lodged firmly in the case especially by the fan vent you have to coax it out.

    Casio CTK-541 Keyboard AC Housing

Many people have damaged ac power prong problems. Tools required is a soldering iron and solder wick or a bulb desoldering device . Next you will need Jamesco part no. 101178. This part matches the motherboard part in size and function.

How to : After removing all case screws open case from back. There you should see motherboard. You should desolder the power housing before you remove motherboard screws. (It is easier). After desoldering the power housing remove motherboard screws and gently loosen mother board. You should be able to remove power housing from board (caution if it sticks try remong more solder). Put in new part secure in place and solder (I use tape to hold in place) . AS a note once the motherboard is secured close key board and check for funtionality before puttting all those in place
