like snow-- indicates primarily an antenna connection problem or the wrong av selection to a device not connected

you have a bad DMD chip
call Mitsubishi. they will send one to a servicer at no cost
you only pay for labor

DLP/DMD chip is failing. you need a new DLP chip for that model TV. the pixels are sticking. it will get worse as time progresses.

should have just used a duster spray.. not disasembled the unit..

Sounds like the monitor is going.

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

It is the chip that controls the millions of mirrors inside the tv. If they are black, they are stuck closed. If they are white, they are stuck open. I JUST had the same the same thing happen with mine. I bought it 3yr and 2 months ago and I had an extended warranty on it for 3 years. Well, needless to say, it was out of warranty and I was pissed. The store I bought it from suggested I call Samsung. Which, I did. They asked for the model number and told me that my model (hlt5675sx) was one of the ones that is covered becasue they had a problem with the chip. Within 2 weeks, my tv was fixed by a repairman who came to my house. It works perfectly, now and it didn't cost me a penny. Good luck.

Could be many things: mirror hinge fatigue, dust mircromirror device (MDM). You need a service tech.

its a light engine starting to fail it will require replacement
you may want to contact hitachi customer relations and ask if they offer assistance with this
have model serial and recipet for date of purchase
