SOURCE: I cannot get a signal on my Phillips 50

if you haven't unplugged the unit for 30 seconds, try that. otherwise, if that doesn't help, probably a board needs to be replaced. call phillips for service.

SOURCE: Cannot get a connection with HDMI input

When the tv won't scroll to the HDMI inputs, it means that the tv does not detect a signal on those inputs. This either means the tv has an issue and can't receive an HDMI signal(very unlikely) or there is no signal being sent from the source(converter box) The first thing I would do is unplug all output connections from the box except for the HDMI output and see if this gets rid of your problem. If not, I would be more inclined to think you have a problem with your converter box than with your TV. You could also try using the HDMI ouput of a DVD player if you have one.

SOURCE: TV won't recognize signal from a DVI to HDMI input adapter

I had a similar problem with a Mac Mini.  The problem was caused by a mix-matched resolution (the Mac tries to use 75Hz refresh rate, TV expects 60Hz).  The best solution I found was to remote into the Mac (I used LogMeIn.com) and change the resolution on the Mac from a remote computer until the image appears on screen.
Process: 1) Connect Mac to a normal monitor and install the LogMeIn server (or other VNC type application) 2) Connect the Mac to the TV 3) Connect to LogMeIn from another computer (preferrably one where you can see the TV) 4) Go to Applications / System Preferences / Display 5) Change the resolution to your TVs native resolution, and change the refresh rate to 60Hz

There is no signal on my emerson tv, how do i get one

1. You are not on the right input for the signaling device: Verify which input number (or type ie HDMI/component/video/Cable) your device is connecting to and tune to that input.
2. The signaling device is not powered on. Verify it is on and the cable is properly seated into device and TV.
3. The cable is bad. Try a different cable or use alternate type of connection.
4. The specific input port on the TV is bad. Move the connecting cable to a different port (ie from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2) and tune the TV to that input.
If you are using an Over the Air signal (OTA) with rabbit ears or and antenna use the TV menu to run an auto tuning scan of your local stations.
If you are using a tuning box (cable/satellite) over a coaxial connection check connections and tune the TV to CH 3 or CH 4 and check for picture. There may be a switch on the back of the box indicating CH 3 or CH 4.

I accidentaly disconnected my Samsung 60" tv picture when I tried to move the tv to watch it from a different angle in the room. Everything else is still working but no picture?

You might want to check what got disconnected. If it was an HDMI cable to your cable box, Either the cable or input port on the TV could have been damaged. Try a new cable and possibly a different HDMI input port. Also try watching a DVD through the same port to see if the input is OK. If the above doesn't work, check that you can at least bring up the setup menu on the TV. No menu could indicate a damage display panel or driver...

I can't get audio to work on my Samsung UN40HU6950F UHD TV HDMI 1 input using the Time Warner Cable Cisco 4742HDC cable box.

if all 4 inputs work with another input source(i.e. your Motorola box) it indicates the issue is with the TWC input source. Also check your HDMI cable to be sure it is in good condition & properly plugged in on both ends.

I want to connect my philips home theater to samsung tv so how do i connect plz guide i hv three colour ep pin

Hi, to hook up a Tv to an home theater they are all the same process.

Instruction:

Make sure your playback devices are properly connected to your receiver. Whatever playback devices you use, make sure they are plugged into the appropriate inputs on your receiver. DVD and Blu-ray players, satellite boxes and cable boxes should all be plugged into video inputs, and CD players should be plugged into audio inputs. Your receiver will have labels on the back panel indicating into which input you should plug your devices.

Connect the video out to your TV's video input. Make sure you use the correct cable to make the connection. For newer receivers, the connection will likely be either HDMI or component. If your receiver has an HDMI output, use an HDMI cable to connect the receiver to the HDMI input on your TV. If your receiver uses a component output, use a component cable to connect your receiver to the component input on your TV.

Connect the audio output of your TV to one of the audio inputs on your receiver if you want to output your television's audio through your home theatre system. Most recent TVs will either use an optical cable or a digital coaxial cable to connect to the receiver, allowing you 5.1 channel surround from your television. If you have an older set, you will likely have to use standard RCA cables.

Turn on your receiver and press the "Setup/Menu" button on your receiver's remote. When "Input" appears on the display, press the right arrow key on your remote to select TV from the list.

After selecting TV, press the up or down arrow keys on your remote to select the audio input jack into which you have plugged your TV's audio cable. Press the "Exit" button on your remote to exit the setup menu and lock in the settings.

Tips & Warnings

Make sure you plug everything into the correct jacks or you will spend unnecessary time trying to troubleshoot why you don't have picture or sound.

I get no picture when I connect the set box HDMI cable to the TV

The default connection is usually HDMI 1. The possibility of the cable being defective, or the box sending a signal out need to be determined.

Set up your connections, then turn on your TV.

Try using different HDMI hookups.

Bring a different video source to get the TV to display.

See if you can bring up the TV menu to select an input to connect to.

I can't get signal when I hook up my hdmi cable. What am I doning wrong

Are you switching the TV's input to the HDMI socket..? and the output of the device you are trying to connect to the same HDMI socket..? Look in the TV's menu system and cycle through the available inputs with the HDMI cable connected ( some systems will only allow the HDMI socket to become active when something is actually plugged into it). Do this on both devices with the cable connected. Check the cable by plugging it into another, working HDMI link, maybe to a different TV in your house, if it works then it aint the cable..

The possibility is that the HDCP handshake could not have happend correctly and hence the issue. Try to connect to different HDMI input of TV from Cable box. If possible change the resolution of cable box and check video

Acer 6920 hdmi sound output

An HDMI cable carries audio and video. Connect the HDMI cable to the cable box and to the tv. Make sure you then select the HDMI input on your TV. Also, make sure the internal audio is turned on in the Samsung TV settings. If all is setup correctly and you still have no audio try using a different HDMI cable.
