I have a Hotpoint aq7L49i uk washing machine, It wont fill with water and the lights on the front flash before any program finishes. I have cleared the filter and the pump , there was some loose change and a lot of gunk debris and I reassembled but the machine still wont work. If I add water manually to the drum it drains okay but won't fill by itself . Any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi Jason.
The most likely reason for your problem is that the water inlet valve is faulty. This is why the machine won't fill.
It is a simple fix for a serviceman.

this could either b the motor brushes or the timer check the brushes first they r mounted on either side of the motor unplug the machine b4 u start good luck

my w830 is doing exactly the same thing.
I am usually pretty good at fixing these sort of things so if/when I solve it I will post back here.
I think it is a motor fault - most likely the motor brushes are worn out.

I have a fairly new Hotpoint Aquarius machine (out of guarantee).
When it is switched on, all of the red lights flash and it will not operate.

Had exactly the same last week - Jan 09 - and had to call out Hotpoint engineer - £99.98 all inclusive of parts - it was the main controller board, so thats under guarantee for another 12 months. all working and spinning as should be and only took around 30mins.GS :)

Sounds like a timer switch malfunction.
