Burning smells in driers can be sometimes from a blocked lint filter. The dried lint has been known to ignite when it gets hot. If you haven't cleaned the lint filter then do so and if the smell continues get it serviced.

Lg tromm gas dryer burning smell shuts off

Hello Debi;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You have a dangerous situation.

1.) First, your dryer is shutting down because your dryer is plugged up with lint and there is no air flow. You need to remove the top cover and control panel, the front cover and if your hot air distribution manifold id in the back or front end, remove that and clean. With a dry rag (DO NOT USE LIQUID CLEANERS), wipe the grease and grime off all components.

2.) The burning smell is the lint burning. Fortunately, due to the lack of air, the lint is being extinguished.

So far you are lucky. You have not had a major fire. DO NOT USE THE DRYER UNTIL THE ABOVE TASK HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED.

I wish I could provide you with more specific information on your dryer, but you did not provide a model number.

GE DPXH46GA6CC gas dryer makes large humming noise in heat cycles and burning smell

Two things are likely going on here,1- something is dragging down your motor check for a twist in the belt, idler pulley bad, belt installed wrong or wrong belt. Also check your front drum felt and glides if the felt is bunched up that will drag down the motor. Now the smell you probably have some felt or lint in the burner clean it carefully you do not want to damage your igniter.

Gas smell from vent

Something that runs on gas in your house is leaking that out, not necessarily the dryer. Check all your pilot lights to make sure they're either burning or that device's gas is shut off by valve. You don't share buildings with another family, do you? (like a duplex or quad housing)

I have an LG gas dryer, lately when the dryer has finished my clothes has a burning smell to them. I recently painted and noticed the smell at that time. Though the paint smell is gone the burnt smell has...

Mark, My name is Hal and having trouble understanding where you painted. Did you paint the inside of the drum? Or did you paint the house interior?

If you painted the inside of the drum did you use a high temperature paint? If not, that could be your problem since the dryer does get very hot inside and it could be melting your paint.

My dryer is making an awful sound and smells like something is burning. could the belt be broken even though it is only 6 months old?

If your belt was not put on correctly it could be rubbing on something causing both the noise and the burning smell. If you don't know how to check this, you need to have the service person come back and take a look at it.

It smells like something is burning smells like the gas is not burning very harsh odor that burns your eyes after a period of time

If it smells like an incomplete combustion smell, clean the burner first. I'm assuming it used to work and now doesn't? If it never worked correctly it may have the wrong jet in it. There is a jet for propane and one for natural gas. They do not interchange. If it smells like plastic burning, something probably got past the screen and fell into the burner.

LG Gas dryer doesn't dry clothes in one cycle

Have you checked your outside vent while it was running to see if the dryer was venting 100%. If your clothes are hot and humid I would say clean your vent pipe has a blockage and needs to be cleaned out. Also as far as the burning smell you could take the front off (unplug first) the dryer of by removing 4 screws one above and one below the latch and two at the bottom and there are two clips one at the top left and right push in with a puddy knife and lift the top up a couple inches and lift the front up off the bottom holders. Then you will have access to vacuuming the lint that is floating around the burner.
