It's actually a tuner that is built-into the guitar, not a clip on.

SOURCE: Fender Jazz Bass E string saddle vibrates down

Hi Mike,

If the sound is like a string vibrating against something, ensure that is not strings (usually G) vibrating against the bridge.

Ensure that the two screw on the saddle are well in place.

Ensure also that the vibration is not coming from a string vibrating against the frets, in that case you can fix the problem by adjusting the action and rectifying the bow of the neck.

In either case, if the sadde and neck bow are cause of vibration, try tweaking the saddles a little, and lowering the position of the saddle a bit downward. Try also to rectify the neck. turning the apposite screw.

SOURCE: Fender bass guitar shorting out

it sounds to me that you need to fix the input on the bass (where you plug in), sometimes just tightening the nut will do it, or buying a new one and replacing.

Did you mean the treble control potentiometer (knob)?

This was posted as an amplifier problem, but since you mentioned that the use of the treble (button?) on the guitar is causing the clicking, i would have the treble potentiometer checked first.

It could have a loosely soldered or broken wire on any of the tabs, oxydized slider contacts, bad ground (negative) connnection, possibly dirt or damage on the resistive track inside the pot.

A broken wire can easily be resoldered, but if there is internal damage or oxydation, the potentiometer should be either cleaned or replaced.

In short words - it may be a faulty treble pot.

There are ways to disassemble and clean a potentiometer, but the difficulty of this task may vary and depends mostly on the type and build of the pot.

The other alternative is to have it replaced.

You have to get the volume pot cleaned and lubricated. If not a quick replacement should do.

How to operate an acoustic fender electric guitar Fishman tuner

If it's the same as mine, the tuner has a little clothespin clip. You clip that on to your guitar's headstock and turn it around till you can see the screen while picking strings. The tuner picks up vibrations through the headstock and with it's microphone and it tells you what it hears. The little needle tells you the note and if the string you're plucking is below that note, above that note or right on. You have to figure out if you're in the right octave on your own.

Is he tuner supposed to light up green when the string is correctly tuned?

Before turning the unit on, press and hold down the calib/batt switch to check the condition of the battery on the battery meter.

Then either plug in your electric guitar to the input side of the AG-6 or if tuning an acoustic guitar without electronics placing the AG-6 near the front of the guitar should work. You will not need to press a button to select which string you are about to tune. The AG-6 will detect it and the corresponding light will turn on when it is tuned within range.

Turn on the AG-6 and start by striking the low E (thickest) string while open. This is the number 6 string or 6E. Slowly turn the guitars low E tuning key untill the red LED below the 6E marking on the AG-6 lights up. Continue stricking the open string and turning the key untill the needle centers on zero and the 6E light remains on.

Repeat this for the open A string untill the 5A light turns on and the needle centers on zero.

Repeat for the remaining four strings, 4D 3G 2B and 1E, being careful not to over tighten and break them.

Tip: It may be a good idea once the low E string is tuned, to tune the rest manually, especially new strings or strings way out of tune. Then tune again using the AG-6 tuner.
.
If installing fresh strings you will probably need to stretch each string and re-tune, possibly several times, before they hold their tuning.

Hey There,
If its adjustable its worth checking if the Pitch of the tuner is set right (normaly changed by a + & - button) Any normal tuner should be set to 440 which is standard Pitch.
Hope this is of any help

IF YOUR GUITAR has a built in tuner, make sure the tuner is off as it disables output while tuning... The other thing is to check if you have a volume control on the guitar that might be set too low.. Make sure if you are using 1/4 inch plug guitar cable that it is NOT a TRS balanced cable, as that will turn off the power in the guitar.

My Fishman Prefix plus is not working through an amplifier and the tuner will not stay lit

Check the battery in the preamp. Also adjust the eq to see if you might be clipping the frequency you are generating.

ALSO do not overdrive a tuner... they get confused and won't register.
