OUCH... Might need a new harddrive or motherboard. Does it even let you go into the bios? Maybe you can do a full reinstall to save you the dough.

it sounds like your display backlight has gone bad. If your handy you can get a new display. If you are really good you can replace the back light.

It's a common problem with Dell Inspiron 1501 / 6000 / 6400 models. So tighten all screws on the bottom, on the back (where power cable connects), then remove cover on top of the keyboard and tighten screws there, then remove screen bezel and tighten screws there - here is how:

oh..you have encountered the "Blue Screen of Death" - BsoD . This s a general prob in Windows systems. Try formatting ur drive and reinstall the OS. The bad sectors in ur HDD wud have caused such a blue screen. 

Hi my inspiron 6400 cannot boot up after trying several time .I press switch on, then after 3 second it goes off again.Battery fully charge.
1)battery new
2)rep used mother board
3)rep touch pad
4)rep keyboard

Depends on your use. The 9 cell will hold a charge for about 2 hours, depending on your configuration and the 12 I believe is 3-4.

you will need to have the Inverter on the screen replaced by a qualified technician
