I have an Alpine INE-Z928HD, 8" VGA stereo. the problem is it will randomly reboot. This just started recently. The screen will go black, a second later the music will shut off, a few seconds later the Alpne blue screen will reappear and the radio will come back on. I've hit the reset button but didn't solve the problem.

Some power issues are caused by a bad socket outlet and power plug match, can be seasonal as the weather cools ! Try using an extension lead to eliminate.

SOURCE: Alpine CDA-9851 (turning off and back on)

If someone tried to steal it maybe they Jolted some of the wires behind the harness or the connection into the harness and when you are driving it loses its connectivity. Check all of the connections in the harness and make sure noone of them feel loose. Just as a test try putting it in another car(if applicable) or bench test it, I.e leave it hooked up directly to the battery for a while playing a cd with a small speaker hooked up to a channel( make sure wires dont cross...!!!!!!) and see if you can replicate the issue. Just some thoughts.

SOURCE: Alpine Ipod/Stereo Error 1 message

Sorry but the ipod should never "die" when it's plugged in. I own this system and have encountered the same problem. The ipod should be continuously charging if plugged in, therefore it should never run out of juice.
Things I've been told to do f rom Alpine themselves:
-Get latest version of ipod software from itunes
-Plug ipod back into unit (via cord) with car turned off
-hold the center button and play button until ipod resets itself
-take off alpine face
-press the little button behind face to reset unit
I have done this with some success. The problem returned once in a while, however, for some reason after doing the process listed again a few months back, I've not had the error.

SOURCE: ipod control?

You can purchase the KCA-420i and connect it to to the ai-net port behind the headunit. This will allow you to send signal from your ipod to your alpine headunit while still retaining your operating functions to the ipod. Can be purchased for about 10 bucks on ebay.

My setting button on my alpine navi ine-z928hd is blacked out and won't let me access it. I unplugged it for a couple hours and tried the reset button, but no change. And there's not a remote.

It sounds like you're having a problem with your Alpine Navi INE-Z928HD. I suggest that you first try to download and install the latest firmware update for your device. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then you may need to contact Alpine's technical support team for further assistance.

Alpine ine-s920hd keeps shutting off after a few minutes of starting the truck and i also noticed my backup camera is really dark. Help.

If your Alpine INE-S920HD head unit keeps shutting off after a few minutes of starting the truck and your backup camera appears dark, it could indicate a power or wiring issue. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
Check the power connections: Ensure that the head unit's power and ground connections are secure and properly connected. Make sure there are no loose or damaged wires. Check the fuse for the head unit to ensure it is not blown.
Verify the power source: Confirm that the power source you are using for the head unit is stable and providing sufficient voltage. Consider checking the vehicle's battery and alternator to ensure they are in good working condition.
Inspect the wiring for the backup camera: Check the wiring connections for the backup camera, including the power and video cables. Ensure that they are securely connected and not damaged. A loose or faulty connection could cause the camera to appear dark.
Adjust camera settings: The dark image from the backup camera could also be due to incorrect camera settings. Check the settings menu on the head unit to adjust the brightness, contrast, or other image-related settings for the backup camera.
Reset the head unit: Perform a factory reset on the Alpine INE-S920HD head unit. Refer to the user manual or contact Alpine customer support for specific instructions on how to reset the head unit.
