Take a look at your ice maker. Look for ice that is causing the auger motor to run. Clear the ice and try again.

Testimonial: "iremoved the whole ice tray the ice motor keeps running when you open the door it stops soon as you close the door it starts running again"

Ok, I was hoping it would be that easy. The next thing is to get out your books that came with the machine. (sometimes they tape them to the back of the fridge) Look in the troubleshooting section for this problem. Hopefully it won't be something too hard to fix.

SOURCE: Whirlpool GS6NBEXRS01 ice auger motor

Un plug refrig. Check continuty on auger motor(ohms). If open winding or no continnuty motor is NG. Or rig a power (cheetercord)cord to apply 120v to motor to see if it will run. If the frezer door is open the door switch kills power to auger motor. Check door switch. If power is fed by a circuit board in the door pannel it my be NG. Or just the micro switch that the paddel hits when you push a glass up to it is NG or not being hit.

SOURCE: Maytag sidebyside MSD2758DRW ice maker won't make ice

Hi,

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Thanks

My Ice dispenser is not dispensing.

Hello;

My name is peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You did not provide a model number so I am not sure of your wiring schematic.

You my have a double inter lock on the light switch on the left hand side of your freezer. It is a safety device.

Pop it out with a flat head screw driver. If you have 3 connectors then you have a double interlock switch. This is a safety device to prevent the auger from running if the door is open. If the switch is bad then the auger will not run regardless if the door is open or closed. Jump the switch with the door open the auger if bad will run. Replace the switch.

It sounds like your auger motor has an issue in my opinion. How i check them is: remove ice bin, open freezer door, hold door switch down, depress the freezer ice dispenser button on the door and see if the auger motor has the torque when it turns, if the motor has power and turns but cant turn w/ torque or has power and dosen't turn. you need a new auger motor. lmk if u need more help!

Kitchenaid KSRS25 Ice dispenser blades get stuck

Greetings,
In looking up this partial model # KSRS25, it shows you have
the model with the large ice bin inside the freezer.
My question to you is: Does the auger motor run when you
push the ice lever?
2 trouble prone parts on this model. Both in the case of NO
auger motor activation.
#1 broken pin that hold the micro-switch on to the switch bracket.
Item # 15

Next #2 and the Worst, A Broken Blue wire or wires in the wire loom
under the freezer door hinge. Un-repairable new door needed if still
available.. You have to get creative restoring the power.
So before I continue, Does the Auger motor Run?
And if it does, remove the bin and close the door switch that turns the
light off, and tape switch shut. With door open and ice cradle pushed
in watch the auger drive fork turn? Is the the key hole stripped in the
fork.(rounded out) May need the fork or motor. #9 & #2

Ice dispenser doesnt work

Have you tried taking your ice bin out and checking for melted ice that can freeze locking the auger and preventing its movement? Another item to check is wiring going to and from the dispenser. Many times corrosion sets in the pin plug just behind kick plate. If the auger motor is not turning at all then I would believe that you may have a defective door light switch that also controls a lockout when door is opened. That light switch tells when door is opened while the opposite happens when door is closed. If that fails then we need to see how much voltage is present at the auger motor leads just behind the rear panel of your freezers auger motor assembly. To test the auger motor leads you need to have someone hold door light switch in and press dispense ice while someone checks motor leads with a voltage tester. If you have questions I will be glad to answer them for you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

My ice maker makes plenty of ice, no problem with the water either. My problem is that the auger will not turn to dispense the ice out of the bin. The motor kicks on when you push in the buttom, however it...

Pull the ice bucket out, then hold in on the door light switches and while you push a glass into the button for ice (may require two people). Ice dispenser and auger will only work, when you push for ice, when the freezer door is closed, so by holding the light switch(s) in the off position with door open you can simulate door being closed. If you can push the button and see the auger drive turn (with ice bucket out) then check to see if you have some ice stuck between the blades on the bucket, if the auger motor doesn't turn, it may be "ice frozen". Common problem. Remove motor, let sit on counter for about three hours and then reinstall, if it then works then check for water dripping from the fill tube, where the water comes into freezer for the ice maker, and see if it is dripping onto auger motor.

If you put auger motor back in and it still won't turn then more and likely you need an auger motor.

Let me know.

Ice maker makes ice but can't dispense ice

Please try this. Remove your Removable Ice Bucket Assembly which is where the Auger (corkscrew) is located. You should be able to see the Auger Motor Drive Fork which is located permanently inside the freezer compartment... opposite the end of the Removable Ice Bucket Assembly that you just took out. Close the freezer door and attempt to dispense ice... if you can hear the Auger Motor running as you attempt to dispense ice... then the Auger Motor is OK. Dump out all the ice that is in your Removable Ice Bucket Assembly and wash it out in your kitchen sink with warm water. Reach into your freezer and put your hand on the Auger Motor Drive Fork ... you should be able to rotate it CW or CCW...it is a little hard to turn but it will turn. Position the Auger Motor Fork to a 12:00 and 6:00 o'clock position. Now take your Removable Ice Bucket Assembly and position its Receiver Auger Fork to a 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock ....Re install the Removable Ice Bucket Assembly into the Auger Drive Fork. Close the freezer door and again attempt operate the ice dispenser... you should hear the Auger Motor again run as you press the ice dispenser. Note....at this same time the Ice Chute Door in the Freezer Door should spring open so that ice can fall out. Of course you have no ice in the Auger at this time...but it all this works then future production of ice will fall out. Note...Usually the Auger Motor never fails. but the whole thing can get jammed with ice and not dispense. Also, the the solenoid that operates the Ice Chute Door fails quite frequently. Last but not least... if nothing is happening... it is a control board type problem. Hopes this helps! Handy Henry

Ice Maker Making Noise

The motor for the auger drive runs pretty slow (about 18 rpm), it could be the drive is running continuously (unless the door is open). Check that and let me know some more info, is the noise real loud, soft, etc. Can you feel anything vibrating or running when the door switch is pressed in?
