Maytag side by side MSD2576VEM00 ice maker motor (auger) keeps running until I open door I tried to unplug and plug back in same thing the auger start spinning and don't stop till you open the door
Take a look at your ice maker. Look for ice that is causing the auger motor to run. Clear the ice and try again.
Testimonial: "iremoved the whole ice tray the ice motor keeps running when you open the door it stops soon as you close the door it starts running again"

Un plug refrig. Check continuty on auger motor(ohms). If open winding or no continnuty motor is NG. Or rig a power (cheetercord)cord to apply 120v to motor to see if it will run. If the frezer door is open the door switch kills power to auger motor. Check door switch. If power is fed by a circuit board in the door pannel it my be NG. Or just the micro switch that the paddel hits when you push a glass up to it is NG or not being hit.

Hi,
If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.
Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned
off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the
ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the
raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply
lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.
On others,
you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is
in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be
between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the
ice maker may not produce any ice.
Check your door seals and thermostat,
repair/replace as necessary.
Thanks
Have you tried taking your ice bin out and checking for
melted ice that can freeze locking the auger and preventing its movement?
Another item to check is wiring going to and from the dispenser. Many times
corrosion sets in the pin plug just behind kick plate. If the auger motor is
not turning at all then I would believe that you may have a defective door
light switch that also controls a lockout when door is opened. That light
switch tells when door is opened while the opposite happens when door is closed.
If that fails then we need to see how much voltage is present at the auger motor leads just behind the rear panel of your freezers auger motor assembly. To test the auger motor leads you need to have someone hold door light switch in and press dispense ice while someone checks motor leads with a voltage tester. If you have questions I will be glad to answer them for you, Thanks, Sea Breeze
