If at all possible, a whole new fresh start means, "Reformat".

Backup if at all possible and then go ahead & follow the steps to Reformat.

Note:.... Reformat will erase everything and you will have a laptop, like when you first bought it.

Good Luck

How do I factory reset a Dell Inspiron M731R-5745 laptop? I just purchased it from another person and part of their account info and settings are still on it. I've gone into the Boot Menu, but honestly,...

You could reinstall Windows. There really isn't a "factory reset" beyond using the "recover disk" which reinstalls the OS. Did you get that with the laptop?
