Dp46849 won't turn on and has a red light - Sanyo DP46849 46 in. HDTV

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

There is no "color chip" on Sanyo DP46849.

Perhaps it will be better if you explain what the problem is and let us try and diagnose the source of the problem.

this happened to me, it needs charging make sure the lead has the blackberry symbol facing up....

Check to see if RED appears in your menu, or through different inputs. You probably have a bad RCA connection, otherwise a bad signal board.

common issue with this model. if im correct not only is it red but it also has a ghosting affect this is caused by bad controller boards connected to the tv screen itself it is not any easy fix the only real option is to replace the whole panel which can cost between 200 to 1500.

Sounds like a damaged port or related circuitry. You could take it to a repair shop if you really want to use that port, wouldn't cost too much
