Does anyone near Berkeley fix small appliances like Hitachi massagers?

We love the Hitachi wands, but we give them heavy use. We hate to throw them away for a small and fixable problem like a bad switch, glitchy wire, etc. I don't have time to learn the ins and outs of every gadget we use. Doesn't anybody fix small appliances any more???

You can buy a new one from aliexpress.com for around twenty dollars post free . Costs $35 for a inspection in my town . most times the switch or motor is burnt out . don't run for longer then 1/2 hour without a spell or the motor will burn out.

Testimonial: "Since Mr. Ford, unless his name is tongue-in-cheek, didn't mention where "my town" was, he didn't answer my question. We know we can buy new ones, and for less than $20. We used to have a friend who would fix minor problems with them, but he's now out of the area, and it's wasteful to throw one away when the issue is a loose wire. I was wondering if he was the only handy person in the Bay Area, or if someone else was moonlighting as a hero."

What do I do if my Hitachi Magic Wand appears to be burnt out?

The drive spring gets twisted when bearing in the vibrating head seizes due to moisture. Spray WD40 on the seized bearing and reinforce the spring drive with a pickup stick or chopstick down the center.

Any rod that fits snugly inside the drive spring will do.

It seems to have power going thru it..but no vibration...help

The small sping has come out of the shaft from the motor. If you open the unit you will see that the motor has a little impeller and a shaft with a slot in it. The little spring inside of the massager head is suppose to ride inside of that motor shaft with the little tab on the spring lining up in the slot. It's really flimsy and after I fixed mine it fell out again after 5 minutes of use. It needed a stiffer spring or a different way of engaging the motor shaft. I'm still working on this...

Can the Magic Wand Rechargeable Massager be charged from a 220 volt power?

If your wand is N American then "don't do it" 220 through a 110/120 will fry all the magic out of it. You could get a step down transformer 220 to 110. Plug that into the 220 socket and plug your magic wand charger into that.

The cost would not be worth it though ... buy some more magic that is 220. be happy ... not sorry :-)

Red on/off indicator light never turns off

I had that same problem intermittently for about six months. Now I have no picture, just three small vertical lines in the center of the screen. One red, one green and one blue. Can anyone help? I know its outdated but I'd hate to throw the set in the dumpster if it just needs a little mainentance.
