I have a PS-3 MTH train set with DCS remote commander that doesn't move forward or backward but responds to remote commands start up and shutdown, it makes train noises and announcement but I can't get it to move. Is there any fix ? Thanks Joe

Just curious but when you move the speed wheel, was the scale speed number on the display increasing? Also, if not working, try the quick speed setting i.e 20 and see if it will respond to the quick speed you set when you depress the speed wheel down. If still no movement, there may be a problem with the motor driver. If it does respond to the quick speed setting then the problem is in the remote with the wheel pickup sensor. Also make sure that there is no broken wire going to the tachometer pickoff on the motor.

Try taking the remote apart ...meen ake sure there isnt or hasnt been a corosion problem...clean with alcohol

When the shutdown and undo shutdown commands are used on a trunk member interface of an Huawei S6700, the trunk bandwidth changes. The ifnet sends a port rate change event. MSTP responds to the event and delivers the Block flag to the outbound port.
As a result, the outbound port cannot forward traffic. After 15s, MSTP delivers the forward flag to the port. Traffic can be forwarded.
When the shutdown and undo shutdown commands are used on a trunk member interface of an S6700, traffic is interrupted for 15s.

Which command base will work with MTH dcs
You will need to add a TMCC Command Base and the required TIU/TMCC serial interface. This will allow you to control Lionel engines with the DCS remote. Please see page 100 of the DCS Operators Manual fifth edition.

Lionel Thomas remote chuff off switch does not work
The slot for these switches is too small to allow the slide to move all the way it needs to move. The fix is to carefully file away some of the plastic from the switch slot.

Many of the MTH Protosounds 1 and 2 and Trainmaster will not work with the Lionel CW-80 electronic power source. The output waveform is so non-like sinusoidal. The electronic sound systems will not usually respond to this waveform and when they do, the sound will be garbled. Use another power source.

Command mode
I did the same thing and lost all remote control to the recorder. Try holding ENTER & 3 in unison for as long as it takes (30 secs or more ) to view change on TV screen. This should get u back to system menu where u can change back to dvd 3 (default ) If doesn't work get a one for all remote and enter code 0533 which will get u in to the recorder command lines. PS enter & 3 worked 4 me.

Remote doesn't work
Slide the bottom part of the remote control down. Switch the bottom right button to DVD 1. There might be a white sticker that covers it so remove the sticker first. Then hold down the "Enter" button and the "1" button down at the same time for a few seconds. That should make the remote work again.
