MY THREAD GETTING WRAPPED AROUND THE BOBBING WHEN TRYING TO SEW THE TOP THREAD WRAPPING AROUND THE BOBBING CASE AND DRAGGING CAUSING THE TOP THREAD TO BREAK ?

I've tried several bobbins tried new needles rethreaded machine can't think of what it could be , the top thread when starting the machine winds itself around the bobbin in the lower shuttle rather than sewing then the machine stops after the top thread breaks , I've tried the tension on different settings also ?

It sounds like the lower shuttle is out of place. You should be able to take out the bobbin case and unlatch the shuttle. It will probably be in 2 pieces. Clean out the dust behind it and replace the shuttle pieces. You may have to fiddle with it a little to get them back in place. Then you can test it by manually turning the wheel. Make sure the bobbin is placed into the bobbin case and that the bobbin turns in the direction that you pull the thread.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Top & bobbin thread will not sew

Most likely the needle is in backwards. Weird I know, I have no idea why but if the needle is in wrong, it either hits the bobbin and breaks or won't grab the thread at all. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a Brother sewing

Check your top tension dial setting is on 5, as this sounds like the thread is not in tension fully so is looping up around the rotary hook and not being held back by the tension device. Is the pressure foot lowered (this turns the tension on) fully and is the thread through the tension discs correctly. Lower the pressure foot and pull the top thread from below the tension dial, it should feel firm to pull, if it comes out easy, its not undertension, device could be faulty and machine will need to be serviced.

Also, check that the bobbin case is fully inserted into the rotary hook in the correct position, bobbin is in and rotating the right way and thread is into the tension spring fully.

If you have the manual pull it out, and carefully check the threading up instructions and follow on your machine - it is probably one of these things causing the jamming.

When trying to sew it quits with the spool showing on error. I had a piece of thread in machine but I got it out but it keeps stopping and showing the thread spool. what do I do

Try removing the thread and re-threading from the beginning. Consult your owner's manual to make sure that you are threading everything properly. Is the thread perhaps hanging up somewhere along the line, like wrapping around the spool pin, catching a rough spot on the spool, wrapped more than once around a thread guide?

Problems with sewing, the thread keeps getting knotted up I the bottem. The spool of thread that is on the top is wrapping around the stick when trying to sew?

Try changing the needle if that doesn't work try adjusting the foot pressure. I had that problem with one of my quilts and It was the presser foot. I used google to find a lot of answers for machine problems, You would be suprised how many answers and utube videos you will find to show you how to fix things.

WHY IS MY THREAD WRAPPING AROUND THE BOBBING IN THE SHUTTLE WHEN I PRESS START

THE BOBBIN HAS ONE METAL PART ON TOP AND ANOTHER PART THAT KEEPS THE BOBBIN FROM MOVING FORWARD. TURN YOUR HAND WHEEL AND WATCH WHICH PLACE DOES THE THREAD GET STUCK. IF IT IS THE ONE ON TOP THEN IT WILL NEED TO BE RAISED SLIGHTLY BY MAKING A PULL WITH NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS. (VERY SLIGHT) IF IT GOES UNDER IT BUT STOPS AT THE AREA WHERE THE LITTLE INDENTATION IS THEN YOU WILL NEED TO LOOSEN ONE OF THE SCREWS AND SLIGHTLY TO ALLOW THE THREAD TO PASS BY. THE THREAD HAS GOT TO PASS THESE AREAS OR YOU WILL NOT SEW.

Needle thread wrapping around bobbin case.

Hello Crystal, I also have had problems in the past with drop-in bobbins . I had to experiment with different model bobbins . The cause I found was due to the bobbin was not tall enough in the drop-in bobbin case. When sewing , the bobbin would rock in the bobbin case and the top thread would get caught on the bobbin instead of going over the top of the bobbin, causing the rats nest that you described. I would recommend finding a taller bobbin to fit in the bobbin case. There are about five different bobbins that will fit in there, but only one that will work properly. Knowing the exact model number of your machine would be a great help to finding the correct bobbin.

Top thread keeps getting wrapped around bobbin case on LX-3125

You should hold the end of the thread coming through the needle until the thread has grasped the bobbin thread.

Thread keeps wrapping around bobbin

frustrating huh?  it happens!  even to us that have been sewing for 50+ years, but the solution is very simple.  Top thread tension is the culprit.  pull the spool all the way off and rethread the top, follow the threading path precisely and make sure the thread goes down into the tension discs.
one more thing - when that happens often times the piece has to be removed from the machine by cutting those annoying loops on the bottom.  if this is the case, make sure you have removed all the thread clippings from in and around the bobbin case.  sometimes one little piece of thread will make you want to use swear words.
good luck and happy stitching.

Bobbin thread getting jammed

kyoungblood4
Are you making sure that your pressure foot is up when you thread the upper thread? If it isn't then your thread is not seating correctly in the tension disks. It will then be loose and make a birds nest(mess) under what you are trying to sew. The other thing to check is which way you are putting the bobbin into the bobbin case, different machines do it different ways. Some want the thread to come out of the case in the same direction as the slot on the case and some want it to come off in the opposite direction.

Guest,
Probably when your son broke the needle he knocked it out of time. You will need to have a sewing machine technician to repair that.

Hope this has been helpful for you bothl Liz M

Bobbin tangles up thread and jams machine

Hi, Is it your bobbin thread or the top thread wrapping around the bobbin. I just got a used PE150. The top thread keeps wrapping around the bobbin. It is not picking up the bobbin thread. Did you find a solution for your problem?

Thread getting caught underneath

you need to replace your shukle that holds the tread bobbing below.it is either slack or broken . if it is slack then you tighten the little screw that holds a cover that gives the thread tension .if its broken then replace it.once the thread is slack below it will cause your thread to bundle up.
