We get diff measurements on etraction. I tried calibratigit again and it will work for sometime then etracts more than the programmed measurements. sometimes during etraction it stops and the prog but

Are you talking about swapping the entire Diff assembly? If you are you will need to measure several things like axle width, suspension mounting positions and check to see if all the suspension mounting points match. If it bolts to the Diff it MUST line up.
Unless you have cracked or damaged the outer housing most Diffs can be completely stripped down and overhauled. You might be able to rescue the one you have.

get the workshop manual or go see a diff repair shop
depending on the make of diff
some pinions are measured by a preload as the bearing spacer collapses to a set distance to give that preload
others have a solid spacer to get the setting
with the side bearings it is a preload measured at the crown wheel
everything is explained in the workshop manual

Hi Jim,
this is rather common. The front axle diff will have a hard time disengaging if the gears are under load. You need a load change (get of the acc pedal, move steering a bit left right, briefly go to neutral on the auto transmission, then back to drive). This will help to get the front diff loose again. Sometimes it really takes some time to disengage! Mostly the problem is gone when you stop the car, switch off engine, release brake, then start again and drive - and voila- back to 2WD. On hard surfaces the transmission can go into a wind-up state (because of different wheel speed when cornering), esp the center diff (4WD and center diff locked) then is under such load that the car virtually stops driving or you can hear crackling noises and tyre slip on tarmac!

if you have back lash at the pinion yoke , that is not the backlash you need to measure as it is a combination of axle spline and side gear clearance in the diff
what is most important is the mesh position of the crown wheel and pinion teeth, preload on the pinion bearings and diff carrier bearings
you will need a workshop manual to get the correct mesh setting and preload readings

this problem is quite common actually it seems as if the key has lost synchronization with the vehicle and needs to be re programmed sometimes it works if not you have a diff problem you can always call Priority Automotive Locksmith Services 8669997858

firstly try the monitor on a friends computer.
and try a diff monitor on your system to confirm the problem

if the sensor is located on the diff. sometimes the lube in diff gets lots of metal shaving and they collect on tip of abs sensor and cause it to ground out to triger light on if this is the case you have to have diff. flushed and refilled with fresh lube.

try a different av cord.yellow,red,white cord or what ever cord that goes to your tv.sometimes the cord gets broke where the audio is at and sometimes the system has a setting where it won't project sound

Are you sure that your frame is not bent????? This will throw everything out of alliement. You will have to go from wheel to wheel and pull measurements like and X from side to side. fine the center point of the car and go from there. But it would be easer if you would put it on a frame machine!!!!!

1 out often does it but yes, you have to pull one clear of the pumpkin by about 2 inches. Sometimes easy as pie sometimes drift hammer.
