1994 JOHNSON 200 WONT RUN AT ALL WITHOUT CHOKE'ON CARBS CLEAN. WONT DRAW FUEL FROM CARBS COMP GOOD. EX CLEAR ,GOOD SPARK,?NEW TIMING BASE NO HELP. POWER PACK NO HELP. WONT IDLE AT ALL, RUNS FOR ABOUT 10 SEC AND DIES WITH PRIMER ONLY. GOOD FUEL PRESURE. HAVE DISCONECTED IGN SWITCH& SHIFT SWITCH ,TEMP NO HELP HAVE SUSPECTED WIRE HARNES WHAT ABOUT BLOCKING DIODES ? INSTALL NEW POWER HEAD NO HELP $ OUCH CARB SYNK CHECKED BY EVERYBODY THIS HAS STUMPED SEVERAL SHOPS PLEASE HELP

USED OLD INTAKE CARBS &ELECTRICAL STILL SAME NO IDLE AND POWER #3POWERHEAD I BOUGHT A RUNING 225 COMPLETE POWERHEAD USED WIRE HARNES & VRO FROM 200, RAN GOOD ONE WEEKEND , WENT ON VACATION WONT IDLE NO POWER. 3 POWERHEADS BASICLY SAME PROBLEMS REBUILT&USED WHAT KNOW

    who built motor if crank seals are not good motor will not pull gas please dont leave me bad feedback im just tring to get an idea of where to start is the motor reed inducted?if so that would be a good place to start

If you have a primer bulb and the motor "recovers" after a near stall with a pump of the bulb, then you have to replace your fuel pump. Johnsons do have this problem often. Otherwise it could be the high speed jets although it sounds like you checked the carb good. Also if you have a primer bulb, Replace everything from the tank to the engine. Costs about $14 at Wal Mart, $55 at a boat place.

1994 Honda magna 750 will not run with out choke on.

Ensure fresh gas, fuel line routing,fuel filter. You may have to remove and clean carbs. Before doing so, remove drain screws and catch fuel coming from each carb. This can be done by cutting out a plastic 20oz bottle.Based on your findings, decide if you need to clean carbs. Firstly check spark pluds for fouling, and air filter for restrictions. Let me know how this works out for you.

I have a 1992 GSF250 Bandit. Having trouble starting, battery charged, petrol full- attempts to kick over after a couple of goes put on choke and still wont start. Starts sometimes and not others.

You may have flooded the engine by now, leave the choke off and wind the throttle wide open. Wind the engine over to clear the fuel out. Then turn off, and back on again shut off the throttle. Try to start it without the choke or without opening the throttle. If it doesn't start turn it off and check your air filter make sure it isn't clogged.
Then check your carbs if it has them, slightly tap them on the bowls. Then find the screw on the bottem of the float bowl that lets the fuel out normally an allen head. Unscrew it and allow fuel to run out, then shut it off. Do the same for other carbs. Now try to start it again, if it starts then it was a faulty needle and seat and you might want to look at changing those. If you have a fuel tap make sure it is turned on, make sure you have plenty of fuel in the tank.

Failing that it is a spark issue.

I have a 1999 katana 600. It will start and run with the choke on. However it will not run without the choke. I have cleaned the carbs and dipped everything in carb clean over night. The diphrams don't...

It still sounds like your pilot jets in the carburetor are clogged. Just soaking will not clear plugged jets. The jets need to be removed, and manually cleared out. If you take a single strand from a piece of wire, it is usually small enough to pass through the pilot jet without damaging the orifice. After you have passed the wire through the jet, soak it again to remove any remaining deposits. Then blow the jet clear with compressed air. You should be able to see light through the jet orifice if it is clear.

Starts and runs with choke on for about 1minute or so then starts to cut out and backfire out exhaust, then won't start again . i cleaned tank , fuel getting to carbs , new plugs, thinking coils bad? I did...

Sea foam isn't always the answer there is far better things to use, berryman B12 chemtool is the best i have found for thing that haven't been sitting for a awhile but just need a good clean or water problems.
On to the problem at hand, has your bike sat for any amount of time? if so you need to clean your carbs. the gas will varnish and block the jet. will the bike run without the choke? Check your coilby seeing if you have spark test each hole if you have good spark them you know that coils and pickup are working.

1ST CHECK THE PLUG IS IT DRY AND CLEAN IF ANY DOUBTS REPLACE IT.as spark plug might work good out but under pressure its a bit differant . or check the valve clearance on Exhaust'Ihad the same trouble with my Triumph 5oo years ago

Evinrude 3.3 does not run proper when the choke is off

It sounds like the manifold vacuum is low. This would mean the engine is getting more air than it needs and can not create the vacuum for fuel draw. When you choke it, the outside air is reduced and the vacuum goes up and more fuel is drawn in enriching the mixture. The raw gas can not atomize without the vacuum. You swing the other way when you dump gas without the choke.

If you can find a vacuum port to attach a vacuum gauge, you turn the airmixture screw until you have the most vacuum(highest) and then turn the mixture screw in until the vacuum just starts to drop. This is the optimum setting. Marine shops also use flow (meter)flaps to balance multiple carbs on a motor like they do on motorcycles.

You could get the timing checked because this will affect vacuum draw too. This site is suppose to have free manuals, but you may have to Browse the internet for other sources.

GSXR 750 Slingshot wont rev past 5000rpm, with or without choke

I have seen this before a few things to do too make sure. First take the air filter out and shine a light use your fingers to move the slides up and down I suspect the springs that go on the slide is not seated in center you can tell from the slide going halfway and hanging up. Next, the boots on the slides only go on 1 way there is a notch on the carbs for them. I would guess this would fix you up if not we can get deeper into it with air-fuel mix screw settings.good luck

Wont accelarate

you didnt say if the bike sat up for a while, if it has you have stopped up carbs the bike will run with the choke on but shut off when the choke is off says no fuel going thru the low speed jets clean them by taking the float bowls off and blowing them out with high pressure air
