DEFEAT THE HEATER, AND WHEN THE SERVICE MANUAL ARRIVES FIX IT
just unplug the heater. element end lead.

check thermocouple and gas valve at heater if thermocouple went bad will not allow gas valve to open

It sounds very much like the heater control door (inside the heater box) is sticking in one position or the other. It's intended to direct air through either the AC's evaporator or the heater core, depending upon whether you want heat or cooling.

Assuming (highly likely) that the control door is vacuum-operated, you may have a vacuum leak anywhere from the engine to the heater box inside the passenger compartment, via the heater control unit.

Depends on if the heater is working and the hot air is not going thru the vents, or the heater core is not hot.
Could be a faulty blend door under the dash.

your fan controll thermostat in the heater is not working it needs to be replaced thanks from gilles

Get a female garden hose adapter from the local hardware store. Disconnect the heater hose from behind the fan pulley and attach the hose connection. Disconnect the other heater hose behind the alternator, aim it towards the ground and flush water through the heater core. This worked on my truck.

The heater core has gone out and will need to be replaced
