All I can say for those glass top stove is they look nice.
The splatter near the cooking area gets very hot and bakes on. Need to scrape off with a single edge razor then a good abrasive cleaner like "diamond magic". Without using a razor, one would not have enough elbow grease to clean like the pretty stove you bought.

Any brand of water heater better than the others? Currently have a Rheem gas 50 gallon

Short answer:
6-year Whirlpool from Lowes, 6-year Kenmore from Sears
Both are same brand. Offer 10% less than price, get store coupons.

Reasoning:
#1 Warranty.
Warranties are same across all brands. First year parts-tank-labor are covered, and afterwards parts-tank are covered for original homeowner and non-commercial installation when installed by instructions shown in manual.
The math shows: shorter warranty has greater percentage of full coverage.
6 year 9 year 12 year?
Only difference is anode rod diameter, or longer-warranty tank may have 2 anode rods.
You can convert 6 year tank into 12 year or 15 year by inspecting anode each 1-3 years, and maintaining tank as shown in product manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Replace-anode-rod.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-install-gas-water-heater.html

# 2 Don't buy tankless.
Don't buy gas or electric hybrid.
These do not save money overall, and do not last longer than ordinary tank heaters, and they are expensive to buy and maintain and repair.

# 3 Ordinary Whirlpool gas water heater from Lowes is inexpensive and can be maintained and repaired by homeowner.
Air intake is located on bottom and can be cleaned easily.
Set 3-legged water heater on bricks so air intake can be inspected and cleaned easily.
Whirlpool is made by AO Smith parent company. Other brands made by AOS are Reliance, State, American, Craftmaster, and Kenmore.
Service manuals are posted online, parts are designed for quick, ez replacement.
Installation manual shows how to perform maintenance.

# 4 Avoid Rheem.
Rheem makes Reliant, Richmond, Ruud, and GE
Air intake can only be cleaned by removing combustion parts. Combustion parts are held in place with tamper-proof screws.
Service manuals are not available online.
Installation manual does NOT show how to perform maintenance, and says that customer must call for service.
Rheem does not offer better product that somehow needs specialized treatment, they just want customers to buy service from brand-loyal plumbers.

# 5 Bradford White makes good heater.
Usually these are more expensive and not available except thu dealers who might require pro installation for warranty coverage ... maybe.
Are BW made better? Warranty is identical to other brands.
Must remove combustion parts to clean air intake.
Parts are ez to replace, but they might not sell parts direct to homeowner.
Service manuals are available.

# 6 Insulation thickness.
Does not make much difference with current price of gas.
If you pay $400 more for a tank with 2" insulation instead of typical 1-1/2", then payback can be 15 years or more.

Have a reliance electric water heater model 606; have no hot water. I am having a problem finding the reset switch.

If it was working and recently stopped working, the heating element that heats the water probably went bad, no longer functioning. Check to make sure that there is or is not a reset button, and if there is, press and reset the heater. It's not difficult to remove the old heater element and replace it, but make sure the circuit breaker power to the water heater is off when you remove it. Take it to a water heating supply store, or large hardware store with the Brand and model number of your water heater (Reliance RELIANCE ELECTRIC WATER HEATER,model 606 ) to buy another one.

When was this model built?

You posted under water heaters.

Following information is for tank-type water heaters both gas and electric.
Look at label on side of tank.
You will see type and rating of water heater.
You can also see brand and serial number.

Serial number has date of manufacture, but each brand is different.

My pilot light goes out irregularly it's a reliance 606 propane water heater

If you still have your owner's manual, you will need to call the manufacturer. They will need the model # & serial #. This particular brand has a fine mesh filter screen on the bottom (below the burner) that gets clogged and causes irregular pilot outages. They have a recall in which they will send you a new burner assembly with a reset switch built-in to it. They will send it to you for free, but you will need to hire your local propane co (at your expense) to install it and also clean the filter while they have the burner assembly out. Good luck. We have a gas water heater but no hot water. What happened? Our house was built in 1994. Don't know the make - It's in the attic. Do we need to replace the thing? Is it safe? Thanks

gas appliances in the attic are never safe.

a water heaters life is 7 to 10 years. if maintained, lifespan can be a lot longer.

would need to know what brand, and model number to help repair, but most likely the thermocouple needs to be replaced.

I would actually relocate out of your attic. the only water heaters I install in attics are electric.
