Try plugging a usb mouse in if it works then the on board mouse might be faulty but if the on screen mouse does not work then it could be a software issue

Hello sir, I have samsung 22in lcd monitor and nvidea fx5500 card. since last more than 6 months, my monitor goes blank If system remains idle (means I don't move mouse and don't touch keyboard) for 1 minute. After monitor goes blank I have to move mouse to brink it back to on. The power led keep on during this problem. I tried everything including power options in windows but could not fix it. Is it bios setting to be checked or could it be windows bug? Please help
What type of mouse do you have, the brand and the model. Sounds like you need a driver for the mouse you have. If im understanding right you have a wireless mouse?
control panel and mouse or pointing devices
if you can't fix your settings in there then uninstall your mouse and reinstall
if that does'nt help you'll have to go add new hardware and maually install mouse
Can you notice if the mouse stops when using a certain program or while you've been on the pc for a length of time. When hardware stops it could be conflicts with other programs, a driver issue, battery. If your mouse worked without problems not long ago I'd first try a system restore back to the time when it worked. To do a restore click on programs, accessories, system tools and the system restore. Pick a day on the calendar before when the mouse was working and let the pc restore back to that time. It will restart then see if it works for you. Thanks, Henry
Have you tried the Mouse with another computer?
If you did and it worked, my guess would be a driver issue.
If you did and it didn't work there may be a problem with the mouse.
If you haven't the please do so and let me know what your results are so I can try to help you further.
it sounds like you might have gotten attacked by a hacker ive seen them control screens
first indicator is when your comp slows down really quick then mouse goes hay wire then stops they some how got a trojan in your comp it sounds like to me heres what you if this is the colprit unplug internet from box then run your spyware every thing once disconnected from internet modem should return to the fast pace it was working at
if things return to normal quickly then they got you bugged a good solid firewall program will stop this hacks from getting in
Hiya! Check your batteries (if wireless) and try a different mousing surface. They can be picky with reflective or transparent surfaces. If you want, you can check out the mouse curser speed settings by going to Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options. You should see a speed slider there.
