Model 75238-GA1 Product No 922045851 Serial 60305206 We have the corresponding Santo fridge so would love to get this freezer fixed. It started bleeping as temp rose to -12 degrees. We thought we had left the door open but this was not the case. We emptied it and took it out to clean all around the back thinking it might just be dusty. However the temp carried on alarming and although initially dropped to -22 with the turbo on it gradually warmed up. We have switched it off for now but hope you can help. We have the name of local engineer but want to know what the problem may be and if worth fixing. Later Electrolux model is 5cms taller and will not fit the space as sit under to small cupboards in our fitted kitchen.

It very well be just that the defrost element has quit working. I have numerous frigs where the only problem were these and the owners thought it was a compressor failure. When the defrost quits working the evaporator coil gradually freezes over preventing air flow; therefore, it no cools.

This will require some on site diagnosis as it could be a number of things. If it is a self defroster that circuit could be bad. Otherwsie it could have to do with the tmeprsature control circuit.

SOURCE: Temperature has dropped from a normal 18 degrees

The only thing that will make it cool to low is a thermostat. They wear out and get out of calibration. Check to be sure the temp sensor from the thermostat is tight on the mount. Its the little tube that connects to the evaporator that makes the thermostat work.

SOURCE: My AEG Arctis freezer is not freezing at the

The freezer is probably in need of defrosting. This usually occurs when the freezer has been over packed. It needs to be able to ahve air flow through it, there are holes in the back of the freezer and a defrosting element at the top and they need to be clear in order to keep it frost free. It happend to me and we called an engineer out. solved it by using hair dryer to defrost it.

SOURCE: Hi Arctis frost free freezer, almost 4 years

Hi,
As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

My brand new arctic king chest freezer the black one i just got wont come on when i plug it in i let it sit all day and night

It it turned on at the temperature dial? If it is, contact the seller.

This is from another manual, but typical. Notice it mentions the 'OFF' setting.

A storage basket is provided for the organization of odd-shaped items. To reach other packages in the freezer, just slide the basket to one side, or lift it out.

1 The first time you turn the freezer on, adjust the temperature control to the setting you want and run for two to three hours before putting food in. 2 After it is fully cooled, adjust the temperature control to the setting that best suits your needs. Settings include MIN, MAX, and OFF.

Model numbers are useful in such questions. It looks like you have Arctic King ARC070S0ARBB 7 cu ft Chest Freezer, Black

Temperature alarm sounding. freezer still running & it's only 7/8 years old.

Good Morning Bob, thank you for your post! Did the unit previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on the unit. After deactivating the alarm and the unit has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, the unit may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.

Good day,
When running, the low side is usually about 2 to 4 lbs pressure. The high side is determined by the load and the temperature in the room or area. Minimum 125 lbs. maximum approx. 150 lbs.

I just moved into a home with a kenmore chest freezer. This is a real dumb question, but which symbol means on. Should the circle be showing for "on" or should the line be showing for "on"?

Some freezer models feature a temperature
monitor that provides an audible
alarm. The temperature monitor alarm is
located near the temperature control

The alarm sounds if the temperature in
the freezer rises 10° F (12° C) or more
above normal for selected setting. Alarm
may sound if temperature control dial is
turned to a much colder setting or if a
large amount of unfrozen food is added at
one time. Alarm is controlled by a three
position switch

0 = OFF prevents alarm from sounding
when freezer is warm, such as during
initial start-up or defrosting.
• ✓ = TEST sounds alarm regardless of
temperature. Alarm system should be
tested at least once a month.
1 = ON is proper setting for normal
freezer use. Return switch to 1 after
defrosting.

I have a Whirlpool side by side fridge freezer (brand new only 2 days old) the alarm is going off and the two lines side by side on the freezer side are flashing?

The alarm is set off when the freezer is out of the differential range of the setpoint. In other words, the freezer is still too warm. If you press the alarm button, the sound will stop but the light will stay on. If the unit is working correctly and cooling properly, this light should go out once the cabinet temperature gets close to the setpoint temperature. Hope this helps you.

13 months old Kenmore compressor very hot.

lacdoi,
huuum At your service!

You said,
The warranty just ran out, Sears came out told me needs a control board ($210 for just labor to replace) not sure about part price. I though a new freezer is about twice his labor and parts, so I sent him away minus $65.
I did some troubleshooting today, pull the plug for 2 days. Plug it in, temp alarm goes on all the time. Turn alarm off, left the freezer running for 4hrs.
Not cold at all, some cool air. Fan is on, compressor is on (can hear humming noise and is vibrating). Compressor is very hot to the touch, could burn finger.
Should I call Sears again, wonder how much to fix all the problem? Or just give up, look for another brand new one (not Kenmore).

MY ADVICE:
Sounds like a big repair bill and multiple problems

How old is the appliance?

If the appliance is 10 years old or more you may not be advisable to put good money into bad!
New appliance are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!!!!
Replace it.

You will be fine

Bless You huuum

Freezer will Not Go Below 8 degrees and Alarm keeps sounding

Our manual says it can take our freezer up to 48 hours to get back to the correct temperature. I found that to be the case when we loaded it fully for the first time.
