Sometimes an icecube gets caught up in the tray causing a 'rattling' noise when it tries to operate and also causing it to not produce ice. Lift up the lid, take out the wedged ice cube and it should start to work again.

Hi

If the ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

My maytag mfi2568aeb french door bottom freezer has ice on coils in freezer and ice maker wont make ice

Sounds like the icemaker drain is clogged and the fill process overflowed the unit. the water then froze the drain and all overflowed water from icemaker. Remove icemaker and remove all ice from freezer and icemaker. Clean all drains. Reinstall.

Ice maker not working

my icemaker has a wire overfill sensor which shuts off the icemaker if there is too much ice in the basket. If this wire gets pushed up it will stop making ice until level lowers OR manually lowered.

Ice maker does not make ice.

The water tube to the icemaker inside the refrig may be frozen up. Thaw out with your hair dryer. To make sure the tube is clear. Shut of the water to the refrig, disconnect the inlet water line to the icemaker. Insert a flexable through the connector fitting, I used a zip tie. The flexable item should go all the way to the icemaker

Solution #2 Replace the "water inlet valve" at bottom back right of refrig. Easy To Do.

How do you change the ice cube setting on the 25cf LG French Door bottom freezer? I cannot see anywere in the manual where it indicates where you change this setting?!

The icemaker requires a water pressure of 1.5 - 8.5kgf/cm2. It is acceptable if the water supply fills a cup of 180cc with water in 3 seconds. The icemaker produces small cubes if the water fed into it is not enough and lumped together if too much water is supplied. In order to obtain the desired size of ice cubes, the amount of water supplied to the ice maker needs to be adjusted. Adjust the valve supplying water to the icemaker or the unit in general in such a way that right amount of water fills the ice tray.

Ice maker not making cubes

You may have ice built up in icemaker where the water goes into it.  You will have to remove the icemaker and to get the ice cleared out.  Once that's done, you should be ok.
