Most likely crank angle sensor if no spark at all, or a coil problem if very weak spark.

There is a pickup coil below the distributor needs to be replaced. I had the same issue with my 93 jeep. If you had driven it with this problem and it does not shut down while driving but has a difficult time restarting, my money is on this solution.
I spent a lot of time money and energy trying to analyze this issue and finally resolved it with the coil, I believe it was called the pickup coil. Ask your mechanic to check that.
SOURCE: Hi. I have a 1993 JEEP Cherokee Sport that
not sure here well to be totally honest i have no idea other than a thought and thats maybe it has an air leak on the inlet manifold so its a bit weak ,but i have similar problems with these cars here in spain on the few petrol ones i have seen as most are diesel but i have one customer with a petrol/LPG gas one and nothing but problems like this but on LPG its perfect and i do not know the answer but it seems these early models do suffer from this

what motor? is the coil producing spark?? If so, check the fuel pressure, if the fuel pressure is low drop the tank, repace the pump and also replace the filter (located on the frame forward of the tank). If the coil is not producing spark, check for shorts or opens in the circuits as well as the IGN fuses. If there is NO fuel pressure at all check the fuel pump fuses and make sure the fuel pump is plugged in and there are no opens in the circuit
