SOURCE: my 1993 jeep wont start it cranks over . There

Most likely crank angle sensor if no spark at all, or a coil problem if very weak spark.

SOURCE: 1993 jeep Cherokee just cranks wont start

There is a pickup coil below the distributor needs to be replaced. I had the same issue with my 93 jeep. If you had driven it with this problem and it does not shut down while driving but has a difficult time restarting, my money is on this solution.

I spent a lot of time money and energy trying to analyze this issue and finally resolved it with the coil, I believe it was called the pickup coil. Ask your mechanic to check that.

SOURCE: My 89 jeep cherokee won't. Start it will turn over

what motor? is the coil producing spark?? If so, check the fuel pressure, if the fuel pressure is low drop the tank, repace the pump and also replace the filter (located on the frame forward of the tank). If the coil is not producing spark, check for shorts or opens in the circuits as well as the IGN fuses. If there is NO fuel pressure at all check the fuel pump fuses and make sure the fuel pump is plugged in and there are no opens in the circuit

If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking at the times when it won't start, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. It's likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

My jeep won't start help?

There's lots of things that can cause your Jeep to not start. Is the starter cranking over? If not, you could have a dead battery, bad battery cables, a bad Transmission Range Sensor, a bad Starter, or a bad ignition switch.

If the starter is turning over but the engine just won't start, you need to figure out what is missing. It either is not getting any fuel or not getting any spark, or something like a timing chain is broken and you have no compression.

You should probably also scan your engine computer. There may be a fault code set that will lead you directly to the problem.

Once you figure out what is missing and/or you have collected fault code(s) I can probably offer more help if you need it.

Won't start but engine is crank my jeep model 1993 fuel gasoline

Make sure that when you turn the ignition key on that you see the check engine light does light up on the dash, before you try cranking the engine. If no check engine light is on, the jeep won't start. If the check engine light is on and it still won't start then it could be your crank sensor, fuel pump or a host of other problems not allowing it to start.

Car will not start

If this is a six cylinder, there were problems with the fuel pressure regulator leaking gas into the vacuum line creating a flooded condition. You might want to check map sensor, crank sensor.
