This is a common problem, for whatever reason your disc is in the draw and you cant eject it, or get it out..Here is what to do to get the disc out.... get a straightened paper clip, thick needle, or very small diameter stiff wire.. now look on the front of the device you should find a small hole.. push the wire into this hole and push it right in and you will hear and feel a click and the draw will pop open, gently pull it right out, there is your disc.
look for a small hole in the front draw of the DVD, insert a straightened paper clip or similar stiff wire into the hole, push in until you feel/hear a click, keep pushing until it pops open...
Hi, is it fully open, or just partially open? Is it nearly shut but just jammed? If so have you tried inserting a flat peice of plastic and pulling the draw open. You could do this with no power to the dvd player, It might be that you haven't inserted the disc properly and it is wedged in.
It sounds like your DVD drive's laser is malfunctioning. Either that or the tray is not closing all the way. You'll have to open up your console and see if the tray is stuck. If it's not stuck, it's the DVD drive's laser.
You have a few options:
1) Decrease the resistance on the laser to increase power, and it may be able
to read the discs again. A guide for that can be found here.
2) If that doesn't work, or you do not wish to do that, you can replace the
laser head all together. Replacements can be found on eBay. You can follow this guide
to replace the laser head.
3) You can replace the DVD drive completely, but it will require taking the
original drive's firmware and putting it on the replacement one. The guide for
that can be found here.
Can you see a small hole at the bottom to the left or right of the draw or even below it. If you can and can get your hands on a paper clip, very gently insert the paper clip. That should release the draw.
Failing that, and depending what you have insode the draw it may be worth you buying a new one.?
Look underneath the unit for an access hole . It may be labeled as such. Some CD units offer a manual drawer open device under there.
If you're really brave, unplug the unit and remove the case screws. Pop off the case and get your CD back. The you might need a draw belt. See prbline.com or studiosoundelectronics.com
