There is a slightly easier way of getting the lines in which attaching a tag wire to end of the taper tubing and pulling the line thru the tank openings. Most time you don't even need to lube the lines and if you use the regular two fuel mix.

Here is picture of the wire is attached.

Obtain the proper size fuel lines...remove the old lines, paying close attention to routing...cut the lines at a sharp angle on the end...use tire dressing to lubricate the lines..it is very slick...and push the lines into the holes in the tank...use a pair of forceps to pull the lines through...you might have to clamp the line and twist the forceps and wind the line around the tip to pull them through..
just cut the lines so the filter is at rest on the bottom of the tank farthest from the cap...the line near the primer bulb either just gets cut at an angle or gets a plastic fitting in the end..

WHAT IS THE PLASTIC FITTING ON THE END OF THE PRIMER do. The primer bulb stays in when I prime it. Is the end of primer tube covered with gas in the tank?

  • Eugene Rounds Mar 29, 2015

The plastic fitting is there to just keep the line from slipping out of the tank.

  • Eugene Rounds Mar 29, 2015

Since the primer is staying suck in there a couple possibles. 1] the lines at carburetor are connected backwards or 2] If the primer is the build in type if primer assemble check valves or the internal filter screen are clogged.

Gas leaks from tru start lawnboy mower

Clean the carburetor, line, and fuel tank with Gunk engine cleaner. Check for broken or damaged tank or fuel line, loose hose clamp, loose carburetor, or carburetor sediment bowl. You may need a new carburetor gasket.

How does fuel line connect from gas tank to carburetor?

Its usually just a rubber or clear plastic hose that runs from the bottom of the tank to a barbed push on connector at the side of the carb.

I have a Chinese motor go kart put new carburetor on it can remember were all the hose connect from carburetor to the gokart needing diagram

Should be 1 hose from the gas tank bottom .that goes into the top hose connection on the carburetor . The smallest hose goes from the bottom of the carburetor to top of the tank . If you have a large hose it should be for the air breather.

I have a Tecumseh OHV130 206810C. It sat idle for 2 years and was gummed up. Cleaned everything up but can only get it to run by spraying gas into the air intake. Could there be a fuel pump problem an

You follow the hose from the bottom of you fuel tank right to the fuel pump. If you don\'t have a pump, that same hose will go to your carburetor. Either way disconnect the hose from the carburetor. Put a can under hose and turn over engine. If gas flows your pump is OK. Next remove bowl off bottom of carburetor, ( with can under bowl), I believe you will find crap & water in the fuel bowl. I would drain all fuel from tank, hoses, and pump. Clean fuel bowl , you may need new bowl gasket, put in fresh fuel, try to start. Water in the fuel is a very common problem when you hear NO START. Caution when dealing with fuel, remember SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY, and did I forget to mention SAFETY. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Carburetor change

Primer bulbs pull fuel from the carb, into the bulb and dumps it back to the tank, if you have re connected the hoses to the primer the wrong way around it will try to force fuel into the carb and make it flood.

Replace fuel line in husqvarna 141 chain saw

The fuel line on the 141 is very small and wasn't really meant to be replaced for some reason, as it is a pinch fit. Buy the smallest fuel line you can, usually 1/8th OD inch fuel line. Remove the air-filter and the carburetor. You will need to drill out the
current hole a little bit, so go slowly. As soon as the new fuel line will fit _tightly_ insert the line. You will have to remove the hand-bar and the
anti-vibration bolts to separate the motor mount portion from the gas tank which is part of the hand grip.

Apply some gasoline proof gasket sealant to the space between the gap, else you will have a gas leak from the tank sooner or later.

Reassemble the grip and motor sections back together and let the sealant dry for a day or so. Put the carb and air filter back on and attach the fuel line to the carb and the other end to the fuel filter in the gas tank.

Bought unit new last summer. Used it once last summer and once this year. It started fine both times. Today, it will not crank. I have replaced the spark plug, checked the air filter (it is clean), gas...

Unable to crank? Do you mean unable to start?

If you leave gasoline inside tank over long period of time, that will 'gum-up' and ruin carburetor.
To prevent problem, put additive in gasoline or empty gas from tank:: under gas tank should be a hex bolt that holds up gas filter > loosen bolt and drain gas.

Starting the engine:
Take off air filter and spray WD-40 directly into carburetor.
Start engine, engine should fire on the WD-40 accelerant.
If engine fires but does not keep running, try spraying WD-40 into carburetor continuously to see if you can keep engine going.
If engine stops each time after it no longer gets WD-40, then carburetor is bad or gasoline not getting to carburetor or gasoline is bad.
Try fresh gasoline.
Do not turn small engine on side or upside down or oil will get into carburetor.

Check gas supply: Go to gas filter under gas tank. Pull loose rubber hose that connects to carburetor and see if gas comes out rubber hose.
If gas is flowing to carburetor, then carburetor is gummed up.
Small engine repair might suggest 'gum out' or have other suggestions ... but you may need a new carburetor

If engine will not fire on WD-40
If engine will not fire on WD-40 at all, then spark coil may be bad or exhaust port is clogged
Check screen that covers exhaust >> is it covered with carbon and dirt or can air pass through it easily?
Check spark
Remove spark plug
Put spark wire back on spark plug
Hold spark plug by rubber spark cap so hands don't touch metal part of spark plug
Touch spark plug threads against hole where spark plug was removed >>> metal to metal so it conducts electricity
Pull start cord and look for sparking between spark plug threads and metal of engine (don't look at the spark gap ... look where metal meets metal
If you have no spark, the spark coil is bad >> time for estimate from small engine repair shop or get your part number and order replacement

Homelite 240 chainsaw spiting gas?

Spitting gas is not good. It's probably leaking there instead of going into the carburetor where it can fire the engine. Need to find that leak and change the hose it's running out of. You get gas to the carburetor by gravity and vacumn from the engine. With a broken hose you loose all gravity effects and vacumn that would pull the gas to the carburetor.

Homelites from the beginning of time have spilled mixed gas down over the cylinder head by the spark plug from the gas cap. Then you go out and cut massive amounts of wood and all the sawdust swirls around the head, sticks to the oily gas residue and sooner or later it builds up in the cooling fins surrounding the cylinder head. This causes the chainsaw to run hotter because it can't cool efficiently and the gas tank is right there close to the head and cylinder so it absorbs a lot of extra heat, so much so that i've seen the gas inside the tank literally boiling hot which forces it out of the gas cap vent and spills more oily gas mixture over the head to accummulate more sawdust and cause more overheating. Care should be taken not to overfill the gas tank. Keep the saw and cylinder head clean of buildup so it can run cooler and change gas tank caps often so that you have a clean vent incase you do build up pressure.
