Have you tried the "clean print head" option in the HP Officejet Pro software on your computer? This will often fix verticle lines. But, it will use a lot of ink.

SOURCE: when printing on my HP

The HP88 printhead can dry out and cause clogging in the black part of the K/Y (black/yellow) printhead.

This has been a major problem for a few client schools of mine and for me in my attic space where air conditioning and/or hot dry air causes clogging.

You may want to consider purchasing a new printhead and an alternative black ink supplier (non HP) that uses Dyebase ink instead of pigment as this doesn't clog in the same conditions.

However, please note that if you do this it means you may lose your warranty (certainly on the printhead) and the printout won't be as clear for text as the black ink can "bleed" slightly into other colours. It has however solve the problem of clogging in one school that went through 5 printheads in two terms/semesters until we switched.

First make sure you have a cartridge that is full.

I suggest you use the printers " FUNCTION BUTTON" and select SETUP and then MAINTENANCE.and do a PRINT NOZZLE CHECK PATTERN or AUTO HEAD ALIGNMENT.

I have horizontal lines running thru my copies on my L7680. Checked ink cartridge and printhead status and all is ok

Hi David,

Open the Front access door. You will find 2 Printheads. Check for an option on printer screen to Replace Printheads.

Remove the Printheads, Clean the contacts with lint free cloth ( golden electrical contacts )

Place the Printhead and close the Door.

This should fix the issue.

Regards,
Sean

A black vertical line is on each copy.

Try the 6500 driver. I have seen that allow text print but no graphics. If line disappears, reinstall 7680 driver. If line comes back, contact HP about updated drivers, check their website OR try to get your money back. I have never had luck with this series of AIO.
Good luck.

HP Officejet Pro L7680 When printing a power point presentation, lines are printing over the jpeg pictures on the slide

There is some problem with your print heads. Run a print diagnostic report and see if it helps. You also may want to trigger clean cartridges if triggering print diagnostic page does not help.
This issue may happen if the printer is not used for few days. Recommend to keep the printer powered on always, or then trigger print diagnostic page as it tries to unclog the blocked print heads to give you a clean print.
Hope this helps.
