There is ice forming on the evaporator coils. This is either from a low freon charge or a leak in the seals or windows and doors. Could also be that the drains are not working and water is building up and freezing
Hello, it can be a few things.
1) plugged air filter and evaporator coil
2) low refrigerant charge
3) the compressor is not engaging
If you are willing to check out a few things i can tell you exactley whats going on with your ac
Hello.I think they are on to something with shortcycling on temp sensor.I think it should be sampling the return air instead of (inside coils ?).A 2*f dead band use to be built in (factory installed) to thermostats to prevent on/off, but not sure in this case.Try a new sensor location(return air) and see if anything changes.
TO LO OR HIGH!!! ALSO THE FILTERS COULD BE DIRTY OR AN AIR RESTRICTION IN YOUR RETURN AIR DUCTWORK OR DUCT IS NOT BIG ENOUGH.{ NOT ENOUHG AIR BLOWING ACROSS THE INDOOR COIL} IF THE UNIT ISEQUIPPED WITH A TXV THIS COULD BE CLOGGED AND WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED BY A CERTIFIED A/C TECHNICIAN. FIND A FRIEND WHO HAS A TRUSTED AND HONEST A/C GUY... GOOD LUCK
Make and model of unit should be on base of roof assy, please reply with that so we can be sure we have right wiring info for you. Although they are pretty common, let's be sure.
Personally I would undo the 4 bolts that hold the upper unit (outside) to lower unit (inside) , then with circuit breaker off & confirmed that no power to it, take cover off for hydro connection, and unhook those wires, and unclip harness from connector to upper unit, to allow for removal of the lower & upper unit, then remove both upper & lower and cover the hole for now until you decide on whether or not your going to fix the roof supports in that area. I'd cut a 16" square piece of painted plywood or fairly stiff aluminum, add a good thick bead of sealant (not silicone, it doesn't last long) to the area where you see the gasket was seated & screw the cover right to the roof for a temporary fix. Make sure you attach screws close to where gasket would be under your cover, (about 1"-1-1/2" in from edge of 16" cover) so that the holes will be covered later when AC unit put back on, by the gasket of the AC unit. Make sure you put maretts back on hydro wires & add some electrical tape over them as well to keep maretts on while traveling for now. Don't know how handy you are, but fixing that over the winter may not be as bad as you think. If you need advice later, get back to me/us.
never seen a truck like this ,iam in spain but from the sound of it one belt drives a/c and another the power steering and altenator ,pos water pump as well but this could be driven by the timing belt .As i said i have never seen one of these trucks .If i had it in front of me i could soon tell you .
