Why does my fortress scooter beel when key is in

There is no listed way to increase the speed past maximum. The maximum, speed is set to 5.5 mph.

Manual states.

The scooter is electronically operated. Certain parameters have
been factory-set. These settings are designed to allow comfortable and efficient use. These parameters cannot be changed. The standard version of your scooter was tested according to the strictest EMI requirements. Mobile telephones have no influence on the driving behaviour of the scooter.

Manual says

The scooter drives too slowly. - Turn the speed control knob to the right.

Here you go. It has a Speed Control Knob!! It is in the middle of the console and sets the maximum speed from the Levers.

That is the recommended amperage. More amps will give you longer run time, but not greater speed.

I dont know how much this differs from the 5700, but it may be close.

What brand scooter?

if they are brand new , never been used you could be right
but if they have seen service --not a factory priblem

Is it a fortress scientific 2000? with the small console and 5 position
speed knob and the 1/4 inch phone jack "key"?

Possible faulty brake.
